If the National Assemble members don't want false narratives, then produce details of the salary and all emoluments that these dishonorable members are earning once and for all but instead of doing that, they will keep spinning lies and innuendoes.

Can anybody stop the President, Senate President, Speaker, Lawmakers, ministers in their private jets from flying?. It was common man like you that was grounded and suffered costs and time loss. The average nigerian going to hajj in Saudi returned empty. When you grow up, you'd understand better.

How many of them do you think has private jet? That aspect of flying will surely affect them.

you think those lawmakers are not afraid, this strike was so effective and I was shocked. When you see politicians complaining just know they are not comfortable.......this is the first time abj was in darkness during labour protest and every worker was united, forget about the generator they will use but those In nass felt it.

The House of Representatives cautioned against spreading misinformation about lawmakers' pay, warning it could incite public resentment and damage legislative credibility. They also condemned the shutdown of the national grid as economic sabotage and called for justice against those responsible.

It touched them oo, because they won't be able to just move anyhow. Some of them won't be able to live their normal lifestyle flying girls up and down. Their family would be stock too. You are talking as though it's all of them that have private jet self.

Re: House Of Reps Attacks Labour Leaders by benjaminlawson(m): 3:08pm On Jun 05
If economy can sustain jumbo pay for nass member, purchase of SUV and padding of budget with about 4 trillion, then the same economy must accommodate decent living wage for workers.
Re: House Of Reps Attacks Labour Leaders by onuman: 3:08pm On Jun 05
Bottom line: if the monthly take home salary including allowances, of the legislators is N100,000 above what is being proposed for workers' minimum wage; it amounts to outright STEALING of national resources and STEALING from the workers by legislators.

It's the same rice, milk, fuel, etc consumed by workers that the legislators also consume.
Re: House Of Reps Attacks Labour Leaders by bentenny(m): 3:08pm On Jun 05
Their outburst shows organised labour was right about their current earning of over 29 million which for me is even more than that!

I will keep saying this to everyone.....our problem is not really the executive but our legislative arm of government!

If our senators and HOA members know that their constituencies can come together to recall them for not functioning properly, they will all sit up!

But in this part of Africa, after electing lawmakers,we fold out hands and complain about their lavish lifestyle but will still vote for them after every 4 years!

We still don't understand or fathom the power the national assembly wields!
If the national assembly wants resource control or state policing to be taken out of the exclusive list to the concurrent list,it will be done in 2 days and nothing will happen!

if you don't have any sensible thing to say, go to your room and start reading for your NECO exams. So 180million people should be put in darkness because you are fighting for the interest of 20million people.
Re: House Of Reps Attacks Labour Leaders by themanderon: 3:19pm On Jun 05
The economy cannot carry workers' demands but has held the massive wage bill of the national assembly for years. Devils in human skins.

Are these thieves not already earning beyond what the economy can sustain?? Why buy ONE CAR for 65 million naira and yet talk about what the economy can sustain? So it can sustain you people but not the rest Nigerian? Also why not tell the budget office or whoever is in charge of your salary to tell Nigerians the true figures instead of crying foul!

These honourables should shut the hell up.
They should publish their salaries and allowances so there wount be rumours about it any longer.
Are electricity workers not members of labour? The strike should have continued and they see pengassan shut down loading of crude oil and their eyes go clear.
These labour people wicked shaa. Shut down airport, shut down national grid. I was supposed to fly to abuja since Monday but I'm still stuck where I dey. Finally rescheduled for Friday. Air peace is very useless shaa.

is this the 1st time labour is doing it? Oshimole that shut down the whole country including markets for up to a week during his time nko? Abi occupy nigeria of some years back that u dare not come out to the street. And they threatened that pengassan would shut during crude oil exploration.
That's why labour hardly goes on strike, because the effect of their strike is always devastating.
Minimum wage committee that was set up since January, nothing.
On May 1, labour in their address warned that if the Minimum wage issue was not concluded in may that they would not ensure industrial harmony in June.
Just 1 day strike, the committee now say they will meet every and resolve the issue within a week. The President has stepped in as well. Since January!

COMRADES, imagine, the useless speaker said,...the exposure will undermine the credibility of the lawmakers. Are Nigerian lawmakers credible at all?

If you watch their live plenary sessions, you'll see how irresponsible some of them act. Gisting, laughing, exchanging pleasantries and making calls while 'the business of the day's is on going

Some of them sleep from the beginning of the plenary till the end. Some do not/has not sponsored a single bill as legislators.

It's disheartening! Yet they go home with bumper pay every month end
