Hope Uzodinma is not going to be governor forever. Before Uzodinma, Orlu has been noted as the most peaceful part of the SE.
The problems that engulfed Orsu extended to parts of these places in Anambra South senatorial district sharing border with Orsu in Imo state.

my bloda, this Okorocha and Uzodinma you don't like, some people in their zone like them. Okorocha brought the first university in Ideato, about 6 km from Orlu main town. He also started to dualize the road leading from Owerri to Orlu and to Ideato, even though he did bad jobs in both cases, Uzodinma perfected the jobs. Uzodinma made the university a state property. Uzodinma solidly constructed the Owerri to Orlu road and lighted it from beginning to end.

Owerri zone stripped Orlu zone bare of any government tertiary education institutions and establishments during the military era. All the 6 federal and state universities in Imo state are located in Owerri zone.

Presence of these govt institutions and parastatals in Owerri zone has made nearly every once rural community in Owerri zone now become sn urban sprawl with modern infrastures.

Orlu was denied everything.
In 1976 when Imo state was created first, there were little differences in the levels of urban deevelopment between Owerri and Orlu. Now what do you have in Orlu?

History of State Creation in the SE:

East Central State was the mother of the present 5 SE states..

1) Anambra and Imo States got created through dividing East Central State.
2) Anambra was divided into Enugu and Anambra States; while Imo state was divided into Abia and Imo States.
3) Ebonyi state was created from mainly Enugu State with few local government areas from Abia and Imo States.

Therefore a 6th state for the SE must be created from Anambra and Imo States. That's where this Orlu State proposal has been popping up first since 2006 because the people in the south of Anambra and West of Imo have had common ties since gboo.
But Owerri and Orlu have no common ties. Guess why Owerri left nothing for Orlu to develop with.

Just shut up you know nothing about Anambra. Anambra is a monolith state and no part of Anambra is interested in leaving the union. Anambra is the origin of Igboland . Remove Nnewi and Onitsha from Anambra and you have nothing left. And if we are going by history, these places trace their origin to places that most parts of the state are not from. Nnewi is more historically related to Orlu than nearby Nnobi. Even Igwe Achebe has acknowledged Onitsha's complex origin and Eze Chima in historical text has widely been acknowledged to be an Aro man. Any part of the so-called Anambra that is not Nnewi or Onitsha is XXXX!
