I am not a fan of Peter Obi and never will be but with all due respect Peter Obi was a governor of a state in Nigeria and in Nigerian political and social practice he would always be referred to as "His Excellency" till he dies. It's just like a senator being referred to as "Senator" whether he is currently one or not.
