When it rains we all get wet not just poor people. Let us pray that what happened to Jewish people in Germany doesn't happened to us. I have been telling people that it's important we work on ourselves. Work to make our country great. What is your dad going to do there as a matter of fact.
We welcome anything to our country, they dont have to welcome your dad because he was a diplomat. They already have one there now. Protect your country they are protecting there's dont take it in a wrong way. Your dad's is not going to add anything to their society just like he didn't add anything to his country.
The masses aren't the problem. Talk to the leaders you are following. Check their criminal record from top-down, maybe you'd withdraw this statement. When the head is rotten, what do you expect of the body?

Reptyle:

There is more to the story than she is stating because if regular people like me can get a schengen visa, it is unusual for someone of that status to be denied.

Instead of finding out why a well travelled career diplomat is being denied a visa to a country in which he lived and served for 3 years, we are here blaming "Nigeria". We all act as if Nigeria gave us all the bad reputation we have internationally, rather than the other way round. We all contributed one way or the other to giving Nigeria and our passport the poor international rating. It did not happen in one day and it will not change in one day either.

Speaking to the matter of this diplomat for instance, there could be a number of factors responsible for the rejection. It could be down to something as simple as filling the forms incorrectly or not supplying adequate information. Rather than use that as another avenue to rubbish or denigrate the country and our passport, file an appeal and find out why you were denied.

oh please shut your mouth
pls
under NO guise should a former diplomatic passport holder be denied visa esp to the country he once represented his country in.....
No country will dare deny Blinken or any of his cohorts visa even after they have served their time in the US State dept and gone home....

You guys should stop rationalising rubbish

Was it APC or Tinubu government that the Igbo coupist toppled in 1966?

Since the 1960s, Nigerians have had a country they were ashamed of.

See the words of Major Patric Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu in January 1966.

this phool had to bring tribalism into it

These elites are very shallow minded.

You refuse to fix your health care, education and all that.
Your President flies abroad, gets treated by a white physician. That alone is an issue of national security.

Your minister of education sends his child abroad for both first and second degree.

And then you put on good suit and introduce yourself as an Ambassador or Governor .....lol

The truth is they know that mentally, the black man is closer to apes than human.

They just look at you and shake their head.

Shameless race!!!

the bolded is a very silly thing to say

It is tribalism by letting you know what the Igbo coupists of January 1966 had to say about the shame of being a Nigerian even as at 1966?

Was he going there to be a destitute or nuisance? Abeg use your head. Sometimes these embassies employ illiterates who make stupid decisions. It has happened to me years ago, I was working for one of the largest multinationals and was scheduled for a business trip. They denied the visa on the grounds that I might not come back to Nigeria.

An application fully paid for and backed by the multinational.

Needless to say that decision was later reversed.

I have also seen a situation where a seventy year old ex diplomat going for a medical trip was told the same rubbish.

is the bolded not a disgrace to the supposed Nigerian elite class ?

Entitlement mentality.
What makes your father so special from many Nigerians that have been denied visa. So you want sympathy from Nigerians because it now affects your dad?

It's sadly not a Nigerian passport issue but a personal issue.

Whatever her dad was up to...only himself and the Austrian government can tell.

Nigerians are still getting shengen visa for EU tourism

Did he serve under this government. You are just the kind of people spoiling this nation. A man was ambassador during Jonathan's time and you are blaming the current government.
Re: Ayoola Olukanni: Former Nigerian Ambassador To Austria Denied Visa To Austria by rajiedreez: 12:42pm On Jun 25
So why's she mad? What was her dad reign as an ambassador like? Was it impactful? Were his staffs diligent in caring out their duties? How well did they serve Nigerian citizens there when he was head?

It's always easy to point fingers at others.

Entitlement mentality from not too smart daughter. Instead of to ask the reason for their denial... you enter online to further tarnish the image of the same country that your family has been privileged to benefit from for over 3 decades. At the expense of other citizens.

It was typed to show the hypocrisy of the post I quoted.

I do not deny any antecedent that highlight the hypocrisy of those I quote, be it tribal or political partisanship.

Everyone should own their past and history, as long as it is factual.

In January 1966, Nigeria had an Igbo coup. In July 1966, the North executed the return leg with a Northern Coup.

So how is it tribalism to assert that even the Igbo coupists of January 1966, asserted that Nigerians were ashamed of their country, and our negative image matter did not start after Tinubu became the President of Nigeria like the election losers want us to believe?
