The school gives admission like water but they don't really get fundings from the government that much. Yesterday a position was released for engineering students USAfall2024: |

Shueld06: The issue of mrv payment in bank is really not embassy dependent, it does happen to anyone. The safest way to make payment is by card coz it’s an instant processing |

Does anyone know of a card that works for visa fee payment? |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Shueld06: 1:24pm On Sep 28 |
Ayomide98: Really? Like the dollar card issued in Nigeria? Or a friend in the US can help pay with their card? |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Shueld06: 1:25pm On Sep 28 |
Jboyossai: Have you talk to a friend in the US to help you use their card to pay? Or US cards don’t work? |

Lagos applicants, I discovered that when you click on the pending appointment request, you can process a new payment now which wasn't like that, I don't know if this is a cue to be able to pay for a new appointment or it's just the usual glitch of that website that is incomplete. I have uploaded my i20 since 31 August, 2024 and I have been waiting ever since then, all efforts to contact Lagos embassy have been frustrated, the email I sent to them was replied with a very unprofessional response saying the email will never be read and I should contact AVITS where there are little to no information. |

[3rd author=Lovethchisom post=132192001]Good morning everyone... Please I need an advice on this to make my decision. I have BSc Biochemistry (3.65/5) and MSc Pharmaceutical Chem (3.30/5), with two publications. Do I stand a chance to get a Research MSc or PhD in US schools with Funding. I am thinking of booking gre exam and write next month to support my chances or is my profile good enough. Why I haven't book the gre is because of time to prepare and also the money for the exam. Please advice me on what to do... Thanks @@11€€~everyone
🤠 1. Go ahead with the GRE examination plan. It will add few seasoning into your admissions application decision. 2. Mind you, disregard another MSc enrolment, focus on PhD because your over all CGPA is not all that bad. Besides , PhD admission decisions is based on your SOP, Work-Experience, Teaching & Research publications/ experience & Recommendations from your ex employees or lecturers. 🙏 1 Like |

Who has successfully been able to go past this “pending preapproval process” stage. I have made payment Using a USD card by a friend who is in the IS. It’s been 3days now and I haven’t been able to book an appointment. I have also raised a ticket and it is pending review. I have also logged out several times and used a different browser but the proceed button won’t click. Who has gone past this stage and has any information that can help. Thanks |

deees: 🤠 1. Do you expect the USA embassy to break their VISA policy b/cos of you ? Even, our ruling president cannot break the policy of USA VISA rules. USA embassy does not play with VISA policies, b/cos they don't want terrorists to enter their country. 2. You passed your boundary or did not read their terms and policy , because you are not supposed to email the embassy, you are ONLY suppose to call or chat. Only those with immigrant VISA issues are supposed to e-mail. 3. When you clicked on the pending appointments, the system is supposed to take you to the available calendar (dates), if it takes you back to the payment page, that means that your VISA interview appointment schedule has not been authorised. 4. You can raise another ticket or call the help-line for your query. 🙏 |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by deees(m): 4:17pm On Sep 28 |
OyoTunjiUSA: Please go to the US embassy website and read for yourself, there's an email there and phone number for visa applicants. You are writing as if you are talking to an illiterate person. Do you know the content of my email? Do you also know the number of tickets I have raised on the AVITS website. Please be careful with your choice of words. |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 4:24pm On Sep 28 |
deees: 🤠 1. You can screenshot it to the general public , so that public opinion will tell the illiterate 😀 2. If you have raised 100 tickets , it's your business. You are supposed to wait . USA embassy is dealing with more than 25 million VISA applicants , out of approximately 250 million population. Common, go and have patience. USA embassy and AVITS are doing great jobs under population pressure. 🙏 |

Me waiting patiently for how this Drama will unfold. Drama Name: who is the illiterate😂😂 |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by deees(m): 5:02pm On Sep 28 |
OyoTunjiUSA:I am just writing this for clarity sake, I never called you an illiterate, I only told you to respect the fact that someone is smart enough to know what s/he is doing. I am pretty sure all Lagos applicants will not agree with your assessment of the wait we are waiting not that your assessment matters though. I have no quarrel with you, thanks. I only expressed my experience so people who had expressed their plan to pay and choose Abuja may go back and try to repay and see if it will yield a good result or not. |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Ayomide98: 5:04pm On Sep 28 |
deees: I have been in your shoe since August 28, I think the best thing to do if one needs appointment soon is to change to Abuja, Lagos embassy doesn’t seem to care |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by deees(m): 5:11pm On Sep 28 |
Ayomide98:It is just a bit unsettling when you read of people getting dates in Abuja after 2 days wait. When I saw that the site is allowing payment again, then I figured out that maybe AVITS is allowing people have that chance but the process is devoid of useful information. The feedback system is also very unyielding. I would have created another visa application and paid if not that I do not have a spare 320k to pay. I hope you find the information useful bro. |

deees: 🤠 1. Did i ever write anyone on NL to not change location or chose an appropriate option of his or her choice? I am not a dictator, but a voluntary servant on Nairaland. 2. USA embassy and Nairaland does not pay me salary or commission 😃 Everything i am doing here is out of passion. Although, USA embassy gives me the reason to have a career , while Nairaland gives me the opportunity to express my skills and to be known. 3. My friend, i am writing here that VISA applicants must have patience towards USA VISA process. 45% of the problems and questions being asked on Nairaland are half-truth . PS: I don't underestimate anyone. There are lots of professors , bankers , government officials, IT experts etc on nairaland. If you do not agree to wait , okay what do you want to do ? You cannot sue USA embassy into a law court . |

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Shueld06: 6:00pm On Sep 28 |
OyoTunjiUSA: You can actually email the embassy (I’ve done this in the past and received response). Stop all these suckling up to the embassy l, they’re not God, it’s just an embassy, a means for people to visit the USA for business, schooling, vacation etc..it’s just our poverty situation in Nigeria that make us see them as God, they’re not …if you email them, you’re not doing a bad thing, it’s up to them to respond or not. An applicant applying for a US visit visa from Sweden won’t get the same treatment they’re subjecting us to here, and that’s cuz of how desperate and how the level of servitude and slavery mentality going on here.. I pray Nigeria get it right some days so our children can stay in this country without fear..I understand, we’re poor , we’re at their mercy. We want to escape this country so badly that we’re ready to sell our soul.. but the way you talk about this US embassy is ridiculous bro |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Shueld06: 6:27pm On Sep 28 |
OyoTunjiUSA: For record purpose, US embassy in Nigeria only interview a little over 150,000 applicants in Nigeria for 2023..including the IV and the NIV category (these also include the employment based petitions) the highest ever they’ve seen l. The number of people applying for US visa per year don’t even reach 25million the world over. There are about 23 countries in the EU, they don’t even receive this much. |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 7:50pm On Sep 28 |
Shueld06: 🤠 * Mr man go and sit down. Your character will soon reveal your identity. The general public should now see that @Shueldo06 is the same as @Ayomide98 😀 The general public should ask them to post their MRV payment evidences and I-20s to the public, they are travel agents or scammers who are trying to CREATE GROUP for scamming purposes. 2. Applicant applying for the UK and Canada experiences the same thing , only time line is different because Nigeria population is 3x more than those of the UK and Canada. Besides, USA embassy is not against Nigerians, they are against terrorists worldwide. Do you know how many terrorists attempts they prevented or discovered every day ? 3. USA embassy does not send you invitation message. Sit down in your house . Must you travel to the UNITED STATES? What you want to go and do in the United States can be done in Australia , United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Germany, they are all advanced nations. You are the ones who want to escape Nigeria. Millions of Nigerians are not thinking towards that route. Will you commit suicide if your VISA is not granted ? USA is not looking for anybody. PS: Nairalanders should beware of @Shueldo06, and @Ayomide98. They are not VISA applicants, don't contact them for anything. 🙏 |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by OyoTunjiUSA(m): 8:03pm On Sep 28 |
Shueld06: 🤠 1. What about applicants from Ghana and other African countries ? What about Indians , Chinese , UK, Canada , and Schengen countries ? You are not poor in Nigeria. Go and look up poorer nations on Google. 2. If you are so in a haste to leave Nigeria , you can embark on your American journey by road. 🙏 |

@OyoTunjiUSA. I don’t mean to be rude or sth, why the derogatory statement against me? And I have not seen anything bad in what Shueld said, he was just trying to let you understand the importance of not portraying embassy as a god to worship. Why would you portray me as a scammer or an agent? Have I ever requested anyone’s for private information?… I don’t think what you have done/said is right I think you might need to retract your statement and tender an apology for defamation. |
