The senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District, Jimoh Ibrahim, has said there are over 277 guns within the National Assembly and the Presidential Villa.

Yes possible you are very right, becos everyone inside National assembly are criminals, looters, and greedy leaders that are all heartless , their guilty conscience of criminals make them to guide the National assembly environment with 277 guns or more.

There is no phone app that can detect number of guns in a vicinity. This is a big fat lie!

Do guns emit any radio frequency that can be detected? Na so on Radio Nigeria today one man said drones can take pictures of a wide area and tell who is carrying guns, then they will use AI to differentiate if they are law enforcement agents, military or bandits.

The drones own is different. Wide area view is already possible. Ability to detect who is carrying guns; X-ray tech can handle that. As for differentiating them, a simple scan of the individuals and cross reference across available databases can help with that.

However, this one that said he has app that detect guns. The question is how? Shey the guns get radio tags? How does it broadcast its location to the app?! lol. Very funny man.

There is no such app in Nigeria.
This reminds me of years ago when people use to install app for face id or fingerprint unlock on a phone that doesn't have the hardware for such and then believe they are unlocking their phone with their face or fingerprint.
What the senator has on his phone is just a gimmick sold to him by someone way more intelligent than he is.
Guns do not emit any signal that can be intercepted and used to determine its presence and position and even if they start to put that in guns, it will require developing and incorporating a hardware for the detection of such signal into new phones before a phone can start to do that.

The only way an app can come close to estimating the number of guns around you is if there is a solid database of all legal gun bearers in Nigeria and all those gun bearers are required to have a software installed on their phones that will prevent them from ever switching off their gps and at all moments update their approximate current location to a central server before they are issued with a gun or gun license.
The problem with this is that it 100% impossible to implement cos there are many loopholes that can't be covered

Our security men must wake up and take advantage of technology in fighting criminals, the world has gone complex and digital...thru too must digitalize their operations... we got the brains that can do the job if aided to go for relevant training .. the criminals must be picked up in their hiding places before they act ...this is the way to make Nigeria safe for all

God bless you for this, selfish lawmakers. Him and his colleagues should as a matter of urgency develop an app for detecting hungry people in their various senatorial district. Laugh wan kill me say Akpabio they ask if bullet they the gun. Lawmakers both national and state assemblies are our major problem hindering development in Nigeria today because they also become rubber stamp to executives.
