The organizers of the African Icon Awards have nominated UK-based Afrobeat star Wini Lizbet as “Youth Ambassador of the Year” for her relentless contributions to the African music industry. 


The nomination comes as the organization prepares to hold the 9th edition of this prestigious event.


The Project Director, Ambassador Abraham Lawal, announced through the organization’s Instagram handle that the theme for this year’s edition is “The Power Of African Youth In Leadership.”


Ahead of the 9th edition, Wini Lizbet has been nominated as the “Youth Ambassador of the Year” at the event scheduled for July 26, 2024, at Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.


Wini Lizbet, whose real name is Winifred Elizabeth Okorie, hails from Abia State, Nigeria, and has been based in the UK for a while. She has become a significant figure in the Afrobeat genre, known for her unique sound and captivating performances.
