President Bola Tinubu has been re-elected as the chairman of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS.

He was re-elected at the 65th Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of States and Government at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Nigeria.

President Tinubu, who accepted his re-election, appointed the President of Senegal to join in the mediation with Burkina Faso, Niger and Chad.

In his acceptance speech, the President said, “I have accepted to continue to deliver on this service with the great men and women on this democratic journey, to serve our interest and build democratic values on the structure we inherited.”

Tinubu's track record as a leader and his efforts in promoting youth inclusion and economic development in Lagos state, debunk any false claims about his ability to lead as the President of Nigeria.

It seems ecowas will disintegrate again same way it disintegrated before and just as Nigeria has been deeply divided.

First time ecowas split was under this fellow, First time Nigeria has been so divided into different ideological and political and religious parts was under this fellow. I beg to disagree, university is Chicago has no leadership curriculum for its stud

Baba nìyẹn, another town hall... ... different from the rest. Bikonu, tẹ sì wọn l'ójú jàre cheesy

Same again for Nigerian Presidential elections in 2027.

I won't vote for him, but hopefully enough people do so in order that Obidients pump up the anguish volumes again.

shows that Tinubu's leadership and diplomatic skills are recognized not just within Nigeria, but also on a regional level, solidifying his position as a force to be reckoned with in Nigerian politics.

Congratulations to West Africa. Africa has reaffirmed their confidence in Jagaban. No matter how big or small you are, ECOWAS under the leadership of Jagaban will never tolerate military desecretion of constitutional democracy. There's lot of work still lies ahead. Within a year as Chairman, Jagaban has been able to attract African Energy Bank and Africa Central Bank to Nigeria. Congrats Nigeria and West Africa.

Well, it's no surprise that Tinubu has been reelected as ECOWAS chairman. His strong leadership and vision have proven time and time again that he is worthy of this position. It's a shame that the PDP, who ruled Nigeria for 16 years, has never been able to produce such a respected and capable leader

Nothing remain for ECOWAS when members are forming alliances, go to YouTube and watch the heroic welcome accorded to Captain Ibrahim Traore on his arrival in Niger Republic for the Sahel countries summit, no ECOWAS leader will receive such a rousing organic welcome even in their various countries not to mention in a foreign land. Nobody in Nigeria gives a damn if ECOWAS Heads of State are in the country or if Tinubu gets elected as a dormant Chairman of ECOWAS

A show of confidence in his leadership qualities by the whole of West Africa. Only Obidenses think otherwise. Next to conquer for Nigeria is Africa and then UN. Jagaban is a man of experience and depth and everywhere he goes his rivals bow to him. Obidenses will continue to labour in vain

As a Nigerian president, you have 99% chance of becoming the ECOWAS leader because without Nigeria, there's no ECOWAS. He who pays the piper calls the tunes.

Congratulations to him! Let's hope he makes positive impact this time, not imposing sanctions before calling for talks.
