Stories. It is only applicable when the federal government stops controlling the resources of the states. No governor will implement it and nothing will happen. Most African countries have very weak institutions. 53 Likes 10 Shares |

Now let me see the excuse the useless Chairman of my LG would give for his lack of performance. Another thing is that in this banana republic, the governors will still be calling the shot while the LG chairmen will keep quiet to show loyalty. How many states even have elected LG chairmen sef. 61 Likes 6 Shares |

TO THOSE WHO ARE ALWAYS INCITING THE MASSES TO PROTEST AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT.GOVERNANCE HAS NOW BEEN BROUGHT TO YOUR DOOR STEPS IN WHICH YOU CAN HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE. MAKE SURE YOU GIVE THEM NO CHANCE AT ALL NOT TO PERFORM EXCELLENTLY. ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE AT ALL. I REPEAT, ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE AT ALL. IT IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY. TRUE GOVERNANCE IS IN THE GRASSROOTS. BE READY TO EMBRACE PROSPERITY AND SECURITY OF YOUR LIVES AND PROPERTY BY HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE. 164 Likes 6 Shares |

Good news to the grassroots!!! Any LG chairman who does their allocation anyhow should be jailed for life. Their law needs to be amended now. Thanks to OBJ for initiating this in his term...the true baba of the nation. He fought tinubu for creating the LCDAs , saying the grassroots would be shortchanged cos allocation going to them, which had not even been adequate in the first place would be mismanaged. Till today, no meaningful developments after creation of the LCDAs than offices filled with people making noise from morning till evening, doing nothing. Some wont even show up while their salary will be unaffected. All the LGA/LCDA projects are still being funded by the state cos they don't see anything from Abuja. Our LG chairmen in lagos are ceremonial while LCDAs are conduit pipes used to siphon money by the state. LCDAs need to be scrapped 16 Likes 1 Share |

This is a welcome development that would definitely improve the lives of Nigerians.Even as little as grading of road, local governments can hardly do in Edo State due to the governor holding unto their money. As a teenager in late 90's and early 2000s,it was normal for local governments to grade and construct roads, donate transformers, build health centers etc.The next step is to return consult of lga elections back to Inec.I don't know who told obj to handover the conduct of lga elections to state in 2003. 34 Likes 1 Share |

Good development, No more shakara by state governors No more ‘ we cannot pay the new minimum wage’ Next Constituency projects should be handled and delivered by the local governments directly and not through our senators Development is gradually getting to the grassroots 22 Likes |

This is good development. I went to my caretaker chairman in osun last week. I was really disappointed when he told me how some of them could not afford to do anything cos of meagre allocation being given to them by the state government. Some of these caretaker chairmen are nothing to write home about and they are as useless to their constituency as anything. I think with this development, people will be able to vote for their preferred candidates and things will become normal at grassroot level. 17 Likes 1 Share |
