The escape has raised concerns about the ability of Niger's military to contain jihadist threats in the region, particularly as they are already stretched thin protecting the junta that seized power in last year's coup and responding to attacks in the west. https://saharareporters.com/2024/07/12/jail-break-niger-republic-hundreds-al-qaeda-boko-haram-terrorists-escape 2 Likes

iwaeda: Unfortunately, those terrorists will enter Nigeria and nothing will happen. No single security personnel or vigilant will catch anything. A sane society would have given public announcement to alert it securities and secure it boarders extremely well to avoid inflow of those terrorists. But again, Nigeria is the home to any terrorist from Niger and it's neighbors, I am sure they are already in Nigeria right now Pathetic! 9 Likes 1 Share |

All students of history knows that this has France written all over it. It has long been a pattern. If you chase out France from any of her French colony especially a lucrative one, then prepare for a coup d'etat or state collapse from insurgency. Since staging a coup will most likely be difficult due to the presence of Russian troops. What's the best way of starting a new wave of insurgency in Niger other than to begin by releasing captured harden terrorists. Niger should get ready for a long ride. 19 Likes 2 Shares |

The implication of this jail break in Niger Republic is clear. The escapees, especially those who are dangerous terrorists, need somewhere to lay low. What better place than Northern Nigeria they can enter easily, be welcomed and accomodated to then mingle with the populace because of the mentality of a region that believes all Fulanis, wherever they are from in Africa, and whatever they have done, are their brothers more than their fellow Nigerians who are Tivs, Yoruba, Igbo, Itsekiri, Edo, Urhobo etal? Northern leaders, always fighting for political power and the control of Nigeria's purse strings , to then place those parochial agendas above the wellbeing of their own people, over to you. The only way I see this going down is that all other regions will eventually gain the maturity to disengage from the North mentally and physically, whether tomorrow or even in 20 years, for the sake of their own self-preservation. 5 Likes |
