But instead of addressing that, we seem to have resigned to "the fact" that everyone is a looter and let us just reduce the period of looting. So instead of 8 years let us make it 6 years since almost all Governors whether performing or not, manage to get 2 terms. No need to strengthen accountability or eradicate corruption.

If this bill is passed now, it means tinubu will rule for another 6 years making a total of 10 years. There is no way they will pass the bill & rule him out when he is already preparing for second tenure, he will not assent to it.

I hope the purpose is not to guarantee Six years of Tinubu regime. if passed into law, it should start after the end of Tinubu regime. Tinubu should fight for his reelection in 4 years time. Trying to gain extra two years without any new election is daylight robbery. You can’t change the rules in the middle of a game.
