Can you answer the question as well?
Your Abia state is struggling to pay 18k minimum wage, so what does 70k even mean to them? Only on paper does it exist
Slurity:
YES WE KNOW THAT EVEN 200K IS NOT ENOUGH IN THIS ECONOMY, BUT SENSE NEED TO TEACH US THAT, WE CAN ONLY TAKE FROM WHAT WE HAVE AND CAN ACCESS IN REALITY. 70K IS NOT TOO BAD WITH HOPE OF REVIEW EVERY 3 YEARS. YOU CAN STILL GO AHEAD AND STRIKE TO ACHIEVE THE AGENDA YOU ARE NOT TELLING US.

i understand that some of you rather live on your knees than standing on your own feet but you have to get your mind out of this broke man's mentality. so you believe Nigeria gov doesnt have the money to pay the 100K minimum salary to its workers, really? or is it that these people prefer to syphon the money to do other yeye irrelevant nonsense?

let me ask: do you know that only 10% of the $150billion Samoa loan can pay the 100k monthly to the roughly 1m civil servants in Nigeria, for the next 20yrs?... let me rephrase that so you understand what the fukc i am talking about.... 10% of that yeye Samoa loan can pay that 100k monthly salary bill to all the civil servants in Nigeria for the next 20yrs... but you are all here telling us that 100k minimum salary its not doable?!? you people are comedians, i swear!!!

johnjose68:
What will you tell Alex Otti now who is still paying 18k
Samtob90:
Of what use is it to a state that can't not pay the old minimum wage when you set another higher minimum wage.
Gentlemen, go home and address the issue with your government before coming to those paying the current and are ready to abide by 70k, how much can you pay your housemaid?

just because some bastard elected officials are still treating you people like he-goats, doesnt make any of it right, does it? if you people allow them to treat you all like goats, and give you guys grass to chop and you guys happily munch on it, then why should they stop feeding you he-goats yeye nonsense?!

again...stick to the issue at hand.... the problem here is not about who can pay what, the problem is about WHAT IS THE MINIMUM SALARY NEEDED FOR ANYBODY IN NIGERIA TO SURVIVE
now, whether people can pay it or not is irrelevant here, polithieves are paid handsomely and they never miss a beat to increase their salary, why shouldnt the same be done with common people?!

even abroad people do 3 jobs to survive meaning no wage will ever be enough. But the 70k is for level 1 which nobody under the work force is, if it’s increased beyond normal there will be a melt down in the economy and the said amount wount be paid regularly and that’s even worse. If u want to earn more do the things people who earn more do . Simple

That guy is actually being realistic

To Abians, this 70k only exists in Jupiter as they dont even know what it feels like to have their salary structured on the 30k minimum wage

Of what use is the phantom 100k to them if they'll never get to receive it

I'm a realist and that's how to live life

You people and Abia State...... yesterday was that Abia State is the most untidy dirty state in South East with bad roads, and you all use the state to mock IGBOS...

Now, Otti has closed all your overstretched mouths and now is minimum wage in Abia State.....lols

The same time you said we should give Tinubu, is the same time you should give Otti after closing your mouths with good dividends in labour party ...Oti loo

stop writing falsehood online, the majority of people in the US dont have to work 3 jobs to survive... the people who are uneducated and working BS jobs (while living in "fancy cities"wink are the ones who need to work 3 jobs to survive.

but most importantly, why should you give a damn what people abroad do? is Nigeria the US? is Africa the west? forget the US and focus on Nigeria jare!

am glad you said focus on nigeria. But first most people working 2 jobs in the us are professionals I have done it before, now focusing on nigeria , u can’t compare someone with a degree and someone who doesn’t to earn the same , if you want to earn high do what people who earn high do . You can’t have the right qualifications and be paid peanuts, even if some wants to pay you rubish , you will understand you don’t deserve such but when U don’t have the right tools you will accept even 10k . That’s it. That’s not a government problem , that’s a you problem.

To be truthful this man and all the legislators are scared of the Protest.
Why all of a sudden you accept to increase Minimum wage and legislators slashed their salaries by half?
I don't know the organizers of this protest but I think the govt is scared of you... They are hiding so much.
If Tinubu use the money he'll use to increase minimum wage to bring back fuel subsidy. It will have more impact than this audio minimum wage that governors won't pay
Your comment shows your level of understanding of the whole subsidy issues.
The money goes to just few individuals who are reaping the country dry
The subsidized fuel is being snuggled to the neighboring country,so we kept paying trillion for other countries to strive!
The truth is that anyone that wants to do other wise will still leave a ghost country like them Buhari did. This is the real situation of Nigeria, our economy, our riches ,wealth and value. All these are results of years of reckless looting ,money laundry etc. it is just unfortunate that we are paying for the sin we didn't commit and loot we didn't enjoy.

They slashed their salaries on the dailies news paper, when they are paid , go and see the alert ,
U dey trust Nigerians politicians?
I wish tinubu is seeing my message,
75k isn't enough and we don't need labour for strike,
Kenyans too have their on labour party but they fought for them selves,
Any evil bad government must be eliminated

Joke, Kenya of what size? Nigerians are more realistic in Thier reasoning because once you crashed the system, you will still suffer to build it back. Everyone in Nigeria is guilty of the oppression and curruption except very few.

No amount of money will be enough .. ever enough . it’s a very good start with an agreement to review in 3 years. They wanted 2 years just before re-election but 3 years makes sense.
Next step would be what does the private sector do . Do they lay people off ? Or can they pay and still balance budget / reduce their profit outcome Also will the state pay or better question is how many of the states will be able to afford min wage ?
