I thought you would say "where party members and supporters raised campaign funds instead of relying on the candidate himself to provide funds for his campaign".
This system in America in which candidates' campaign funds come from donations by party members and supporters helps to make the politicians accountable to the people. It has made elected people responsible to the people and placed sovereignty in the hands of the electorates.
How I wish we could copy this.
