Nothing can stop the protest and if the govt wants it to be peaceful, it's in their hands. If a peaceful protester is killed, it becomes a different ball game 287 Likes 27 Shares |

The government’s default setting is to use force to counter the protests. That is a very wrong move. It would be better to let the protesters have a specific point/route of gathering/procession, then properly police those areas/spaces... keep protesters in, keep miscreants out. By denying space, you are creating potential for multiple flash points which would be more difficult to control. Also, it gives room for the security agencies to go on thier usual indiscriminate harassment under guise of not allowing protests. This will only lead to further inflammation. And inviting the Military at this point? Senseless. It just shows the government is ready to kill people and damn the consequences. For someone who proudly encouraged several protests against military high handedness and dictatorship, and a civilian government who tried to do what he is doing, but in a more organised and humane way, BAT is really going batshit over this looming protest. 168 Likes 14 Shares |

This is a man who protested against military junta and a purported Democrat is clamping down on legitimate protests over hardship Nigerians are going through. What a time to be alive! Tinubu is scared right now and peeing in his panties 224 Likes 19 Shares |

Honestly speaking the actions of the government may lead to unnecessary tensions. The way the government of the day manages this complex and dicey situation will determine its outcome. The constitution states that the police should protect those protesting and not intimidate or use force on them. What the police and the military should have done is to standby and protect the arena while the peaceful protest is ongoing, making sure no hoodlum or arsonist takes undue advantage of the protest to pepertrate crime. The government of the day seems to be preparing for war with its citizens. 17 Likes 1 Share |

It is up to the government to either allow the disenchanted citizens voice out their grievances or explode in a rage it may not be able to handle. Justice delayed is justice denied. A stitch in time saves nine. 12 Likes 1 Share |

Goodnewsforlife:If the “chinedu” you referred to lives 80% of his life in lagos he will protest with fellow lagos residents and if Yinka that lives 80% of his life in abia wants to protest he will protest with fellow abia residents. Or do you have a proof where it is unlawful to protest peacefully outside your state of origin? Pls let’s be guided so you end up well. 34 Likes 4 Shares |

Goodnewsforlife: Sowore that has been spearheading the protest is not Igbo. Face ur problems and leave Igbos alone. The irony is that Igbos are not even joining the protest. 29 Likes 5 Shares |

COMRADES, if I may ask, are Nigerian security officers bigger than ICCJ prosecution? Since the Nigerian judiciary is too weak for any function, I think the best option is for ICCJ to wade in 4 Likes 1 Share |
