This is a great initiative from the FG! Finally, a step towards making essential commodities more accessible to the average Nigerian. Let’s hope this translates to real relief for families struggling with the rising cost of living. It’s about time we see some action that truly benefits the people.

Where did they keep the rice since? Oh! They could sell this cheap but wanted us to starve to the point of death before they did?

This is indeed a proactive step by the Federal Government to address the rising cost of living. Selling 50kg rice at N40,000 is a commendable move that will undoubtedly provide relief to many households struggling with food inflation.

It's essential to recognize that the FG is taking tangible actions to cushion the effects of economic challenges faced by Nigerians. This initiative can help stabilize the market and ensure that essential commodities remain accessible to the average citizen.

Let’s also acknowledge the effort to manage resources effectively. If this plan is executed well, it could set a precedent for future interventions aimed at alleviating poverty and ensuring food security across the nation.

Kudos to the administration for this timely intervention!

Lol. So they could reduce the price of rice all these while, but they refused, yet making Nigerians go through so much pain. Our politicians are really wicked and heartless. How does this even get to the common man? I don't trust these governors one bit.

Vawulence is the only language the Nigerian government understands. All these tokenism will not fly. The root cause of all these is the price of fuel. Return fuel to 200 naira per liter and things will balance up naturally but the canals in government and the oil sector are willing to test the resolve of the people.
Sharing 100bags of nonsense rice for APC members cannot work. We know the rice simply gets rebagged and sold in open markets.
We don't want nonsense tokenism we want the real thing which is fuel price reduction as that's what led to the madness in the first place.

Shame to the enemies of progress that were organising counter protests. I hope they can now see that the protest was for the common good of all. If the organisers of the protest are strategic and resilience, the government will have no choice than to start working

It's not a reduce u know the govt isn't into rice business but a drastic measure to ensure food is largely affordable by means of subsidy on major consumable food items such as rice, garri, beans and a whole lots of others.

Tinubu actually meant well but the idiots around him who should be honest enough to make are the evils in the corridor of power.

Our presidents mostly aren't actually bad as we're made to believe but the people around them are

Yes, that is the reason the guy targets the ward level. Once the LG autonomy is fully implemented, sharing national prosperity programs from top to bottom will be easier. Tinubu's knows how to do this. Nigerians are bad but not all Nigerians. Imagine this being sold at maximum of 1 bag per NIN, even though some people will buy to sell higher but with time it will go round
