Niger State Food Security Program (Food Subsidy Scheme)

Dear Nigerlites,

Niger State Food Security Program has rolled out Food Subsidy Scheme, as part of initiative designed to make essential food commodities affordable to all residents of Niger State. In a Public Enlightenment Campaign by the State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Hon. Binta Mamman stated that the program, under the visionary leadership of Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, aimed to alleviate the financial burden of people in the State by providing subsidized prices of essential food items as follows:

Pricing Details:
1. Rice (10kg bag) = ₦8,000
2. Maize (10kg bag) = ₦5,500
3. Beans (10kg bag) = ₦9,000
4. Guinea Corn (10kg bag) = ₦5,500
5. Millet (10kg bag) = ₦5,500

The Food Prices are significantly subsidized, lower than the market rates, which ensured every Nigerlite has access to the essential commodities without undue financial stress.

The Government is Appealing: for the cooperation of all Nigerlites in adhering to the public enlightenment by supporting the initiative as a fair and transparent exercise. Nigerlites cooperation is crucial in making this program a success and ensuring that the benefits reach every member of Niger State.

Niger State Government: urged residents of the State to locate their Local Government Ward Selling points to purchase their Food Commodities. The sale points will adhere to fairness and integrity, by maintaining trust of the people in ensuring that the subsidized commodities are distributed equitably.

Residents are to:
1. Stay Informed by keeping updates of the latest information regarding the distribution points and schedules.
2. Be Patient in understanding the distribution process which may take time, patience and cooperation will help ensure a smooth process.
3. Report any issues if you encounter any irregularities or unfair practices, please report to the appropriate authorities immediately.
4. Support the Niger State Food Security Program Commodities Subsidy Scheme through understanding and cooperation for effective and efficient food Subsidy exercise in the State.
