You are not getting the point here, first Igbos and Yoruba have been living together peacefully in Lag particularly since end of civil war. There are many Igbos in lagos civil service even till date.
so what changed?
Igbos started laying claims that they own Lagos. In many ways ,they crossed the boundary. What Late Ahmadu Bello said about the Igbos were beginning to play out.

The Oba that was killed will never cross his boundary in the US, same as other Yoruba Obas in Nigerian states.

Ode, Oyotunji is an actual, legal Yoruba settlement in the US and the Kingship is recognized. The reason the ibos can’t replicate this is because: firstly, you lack noble births and an organized society I.e kingship in Ibo land is a borrowed culture. The early ibos weren’t civilized enough to have an organized society with a royal head and secondly, unlike the ibos, the yorubas are respecters of customs and traditions who respect their host countries and would never call their hosts’ land a ‘no-man’s land’ I’m sure you didn’t even know about this Village until now and that’s because you would never see the Yorubas bragging about or claiming they own the whole of America just because they own a village there.

The Oba is an American. His dad was also an American.

His late dad was part of those civil right days of Luther king who tried finding an African image to imbibe and he narrated how he travel through the black word for an identity. They chose Yoruba because the religion and people survived in the Caribbean and South America.

They have their community in South Carolina.

Pick up your phone, call those your friends or family you beg for dollars and advice them to do and dress like beggars you see on social media in America, avoid paying their taxes and get arrested, strip for fun, sell dope to pay for their utility bills like Jeezy rapper said in his song, go and live off grid without government devices or support and fetch water like Philly rapper Arab mentioned in his song and make their moms or wives work “6-9” without government services like all these American rappers mentioned. Not sure you live in Nigeria or have a clear understanding of the situation. Sometimes we just have to view things from the other side for clearer understanding.

Yorubas have no problem with Ibos living & prospering in Yorubaland, one of their favorite host destinations for generations. They only frown at political interference. Same as done by Ibos in Ibo land.

Common sense should ask why Ibos? There are huge Ijaw, Hausa, Fulani, Nupe communities and even Togolese, Liberian, Congolese etc in Yorubaland. They are all living peacefully minding their business. Except for some Fulani-Bororos on grazing & crime matters.

It is a very simple matter.
