Recurrent expenditure (salaries) was already swallowing 95% of the federal government revenues as far back as 2013( Yes ,Jonathan messed up the country’s finances).Even the Chinese who were all too willing to lend started developing cold feet.

The north is the flashpoint of this protest and things really got out of hand quickly on day one. The pictures coming out of Kano, Kaduna and Gombe are very worrisome.

Kano in particular experienced real chaos and anarchy today. It was absolutely unnecessary and unacceptable. The governor promised to lead a peaceful protest and not a looting and destruction spree. He must take responsibility for this and personally bring the situation under control.

The north have shown they can’t handle a peaceful protest. The SE influencers that gaslighted them into this refused to protest in their region. SW made it very clear they won’t be joining any protest. The north is alone on this journey of self destruction and it’s time for their leaders and elites to press the stop button. The protest must stop immediately in all northern states.
