But this country is very funny oo. What is actually the problem why Nigeria cant get 24 hours electricity? Is it mission impossible or what is wrong exactly. Now all these money they are lamenting about using to buy millions of litres of fuel daily, if there is stable electricity in the country, the fuel consumption will reduce drastically because a very large percentage of that fuel they claim they are subsidizing goes for generator use especially for businesses in areas suffering epileptic power supply. Make them fix electricity using nuclear, hydro or gas turbine systems and watch the consumption of fuel reduce. While they recover the money used in generating the electricity through payment of light bills on prepaid meters and other viable methods. But the main question remains, why cant Nigeria fix it's electricity in this modern age and reduce the consumption of fuels like Petrol and Diesel drastically? 2 Likes |

When people lie, it is blody obvious Shortfall is another word for subsidy, especially since the government pays off the shortfall. But as we can see, government is struggling to pay the shortfall, and the result is the scarcity we see, since NNPC can't afford to import fuel again. The way forward really is basically, GOVERNMENT LETS THE NNPC and everyone SELL FUEL AT N1300 and above per liter. It's the only answer, otherwise, people, we will see the same mess and lying we have been seeing for generations. Infact, we have been TOLD REPEATEDLY since 1993, and especially in 2012, THAT THE SUBSIDY HAD TO GO. IN 2012, GOVERNMENT even produced easy to understand propaganda adverts that explained the whole thing self. I remember, it woke me up. That and other comments. But we have decieved ourselves into thinking that keeping subsidy is what protects us from inflation...meanwhile under subsidy, inflation is worsening. What else is new? But most Nigerians from the ojota crowd to the obidents are only interested in using subsidy as a stick to beat the other side, while in their heart of hearts, they want fuel to sell at N40. It is cracy thinking, but there it is. Yesterday, people support one side, today, people support the other. Most Nigerians live in sugarcandy land when it comes to subsidy. And if you tell them that it makes sense to sell petrol at a profit, the abuse starts. Anyway, enough of playing with seven year olds who don't get basic capitalism. |

The truth is Tinubu doesn't want to be seen doing a volte-face as per his inaugural subsidy removal announcement, so they are giving it another name: "selling below cost price". In Buhari's time it was called "under recovery". The unfortunate thing for him is opposition are using it against him, either they claim he's wicked for removing subsidy and in another claim he's being castigated for paying subsidy which he had announced has been removed 4 Likes |
