The only way to stop this nonsense is for the surveyors and city planners involved with such projects to be punished, even to the point their licenses are revoked

This is Delta State, Reno Omokri's State. You'll never hear him talk about the bad leadership and maladministration that has been going on for ages in his State. You'll never hear him compare development in Lagos with his own State. Instead, it's Abia today, Anambra tomorrow, as if Delta State is better than any eastern State in terms of development.

Just like you, Igbo are constantly attacking Yoruba states.

For the headline comments.
If government is of the people, for the people and by the people, then I see nothing wrong with the headline.
Because it is assumed that whatever decision is being made by government is in tandem with the expectations of the people.

Government's actions are supposed to be seen as a reflection of the people's will. That is why there is the impeachment and recall option in the electoral act which the people can put to use incase their elected representatives are going contrary to popular expectations.
Or maybe I just don't get why the comments for a change in the way the headline was constructed by the op?

The governor already settled him very well behind the scene. Why are Nigerian politicians so deceitful ?
Since 1999 till date, no Nigerian politician has ever been truthful to us. Na wao

While this your assertion might be the case, the report did not actually suggest anything in kind to that effect

The commissioner will get money to build other houses. Infact, he already has other plenty houses. It is easier for him than for qn ordinary man to sacrifice the house. Kudos to him still though.

Who is fooling who And you think we don't know that as a caucaus member of the government, he will be paid raw cash behind the scenes to compensate him. Everyone shall reap what they sow. Omare has been in this swamp buggy hiring business since IboRi, OduAghaN, oKoWa and sHerrIf governments. Deltans are blessed by God with everything, except EXTREME POORLY MANAGED RESOURCES FOR THE PAST 26 years.

So demolition all of a suden is the best path to prevent flooding. All the goats are just copying and pasting pattern across the federation. Pray for money, but pray double for wisdom. So what what happened to underground drainages etc and other methods of water control? If that was the solution a majority of Europe would have been flattened.
Politicians in Nigeria travel the most, but come back more daft than they went.
Some terrains are coastal no matter what you do.
It reminds me of a scenerio in my state, where land as big as maraba was abandoned for decades, until one Engineer came and did one Abracadabra, Not only was the swap drained, building erected more than 20 years are still standing with no reported case of collapse. No be everything be force!
