X thrives on fascist misinformation.
This is what people want. When they claim Biden is stifling Facebook from posting freely.
When you open your website freely to misinformation bandits and let them post things that can lead to erosion of trust in medical and scientific institutions, erode trust in their neighbors by lying to them. You risk national security breaches

When has it become a crime for someone to declared his political leanings?
Elon Musk supported the Dems before. So because he has aligned with Trump now who I'm sure you don't like, he ought to be suddenly neutral?

What's the color of hypocrisy again? cheesy

Abi ooo, even USA electoral commission and Supreme court justices should also have voices to support the candidate they wish he wins elections.

None authoritarian countries do want free speech.
It’s just that Musk’s definition of free speech is hate speech. The two aren’t the same at all.

Free speech is freedom to speak out against oppression by the elected/appointed authorities. Freedom to profess your faith. Freedom to live how you want.

When their version of free speech is to promotes violence/discrimination against any subset of people , then it’s not free speech. It’s hate speech. Elon knows this. He’s very very deeply disturbed and an unintelligent disingenuous liar.

ivolt:
Musk will eventually lose all his $40 billion dollar investment into Twitter.

Many countries are waiting for the EU to make the fist big move and the knives will be out.

Despite what Musk and his fanboys think, no country want absolute free speech.
They may claim they do, but they really don't especially when violence, potential
violence and high stake criminality is involved.

Unfortunately, Zuckerberg isn't learning from Musk's mistake.

It's down to losing the narrative since the advent of Social Media and smart phones.

The govts in the west are losing their vice grip on information flow and censorship.

Now citizens are questioning the official narrative and have come to see the conventional media as nothing but an extension of the govt - operation mocking bird.

The govt is rightly scared because SM and alternative need outlets have been challenging the official state narrative.

From Covid to Ukraine war to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, govt narrative has been shoved to the dustbin.

The real press as contained in the US Constitution during its drafting was the citizens right to distribute information using the printing press. There was no profession known as journalism until the mid 19th century. Journalism is a fake profession that seeks to control what the public needs to hear.

The clamping down on SM in the name of control of misinformation and hate speech is just a fancy way of censorship.

They've lost the initiative and are now using violence to take back the press.

I wish X banned by every govt in the world, a platform that is supposed to be neutral in all things, not even election interference.

Musk has turned himself to chief spokesman of oppositions in various countries around the world.

Apart from even being opposition voice, he's a big racist and islamophobe. He was one of those fuelling the far-right protests in the UK, a very useless man.

Hate speech is actually a subset of free speech, it is just a restricted or illegal form.

Your argument will be valid if Musk banned every other speech except hate speech
on Twitter.
It appears he doesn't.

Though free speech protection started out of need to protect citizens from government restrictions
or consequences for speech against the state, it has grown beyond that.

A journalist who writes a libellous article against an individual for example is enjoying free speech even though
there is consequence for libel.
You can only argue that libel is not a protected speech.

Go and sit down - Nigerians use X more than Brazilians and was Twitter not banned in Nigeria under Jack Dorsey? Is Nigeria not back on X now? what did all that shakara by Lai Mohammed achieve? NOTHING!

Even democrats who were criticizing Elon Musk for interviewing Donald Trump and spewing gabbage that he was misinforming the world bla bla bla - has any of them deactivated their account in protest of that interview? a big fat NO

X is like that player who you hate his guts as a coach, you cant stand his manners, but he is a match winner anyday anytime - and IF you bench him, the fans will call for your resignation- so what do you do? you live with the “pain in the a$ s” - you accept the reality!

So, Its normal for countries and their government to initiate bans and controls when a platform doesnt suit their current narratives… its a small thing - na Brazil and Brazillians go lose in the long run.

X is too big for any country or group of countries wether EU or others to mess with- tens of millions of people all over the world make a living everyday from X and Billions of people are on it - so whoever shuts himself out of X is only “cutting his nose to spite his face”

double injury error 😂
