It's only ignorance that can make someone that earns even less than N100k to consider marriage. All those things you typed their won't solve real-time economic/financial problems in marriage. You think N30k can sustain an individual not to talk of a family? This is how you guys keep deceiving and pushing people into marriage they never ready and tomorrow when they are in it, even to change ordinary slippers, they can't anymore. Guys, please don't let anybody pressure you into it. Take your time and organize yourself well before going into it. If you quickly jump into it, you'll quickly jump out of it. |

santaclaws: I am a Yoruba too and He is Somehow right even 2 Yorubas has buttressed it is it every one that marries Rich? Even you Can marry Rich and along the way you experience misfortunes Life is full of Ups and Downs and not a Bed of Roses my distant Uncle was doing well before He got married along the way His Fiancee who was in Her final year in the Polythecnic got Pregnant She was already middle aged because of the incessant Assu Strike and didn't even get admitted early same with my Uncle so their was no talk of abortion. My Uncle married Her She was running a small scale business also sells online while still Hunting for a Paid employment along the line my uncle Place of Work a well paying MNC(Multi National Company)folded up and relocated from Nigeria because of Inflation they(My Uncle and His Wife and Baby)Could only feed frm the Wife's Upcoming Business not really booming Yet so His Wife's Elderly Ones (She is the last born) were sending them Foodstuffs and some money most times and Some of His own Family members to,As the Husby was also hunting for a Government Job and learning trade by the Side along the wayt, hey did this so they could Bounce back This isn't to denigrate the Yoruba Culture but to praise them as Some of them don't abandon their Family members during hard times even during the Wedding Proper the Couple Families will still Contribute so that the Financial Burden won't be on the Couples alone that's why the Yoruba Man won't go and peddle drugs in Asian Countries so as to raise the money for the Wedding expenses. My Uncle has gotten a Federal Government Job and the Wife has expanded Her Business too moreso my Uncle also has his side trade now too My Uncle Families will also extend a helping hand to other People too if misfortunes happens to them though I don't pray for that I don't like the way you are arguing as if it's every Yoruba Families wey no send their relatives. |

seunoladele: It all sounds good and fine till you see the women say, "If you're not making ₦1 million monthly, I'm not interested." In 2024, marrying on a ₦60,000 salary is suicide. Nọ matter how much financial intelligence you apply to your income, most modern women (who are very entitled and materialistic) will use it to berate and emasculate you with a sea of unrealistic demands as they compare you with other men who's source of income they nọ nothing about. Despite my objections however, I appreciate your necessary information and otherwise applicable logic in this situation. But I maintain that any man at such income level should forget about marriage and keep working to be better financial and otherwise. Yagazie. 1 Like 1 Share
