President Tinubu has denied reaching any agreement with Labour on the Fuel Price increase. The Presidency has said at no time did President Bola Tinubu promise the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) that his administration would not increase the pump price of fuel. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Print Media, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, said this on Tuesday, in reaction to organized labour’s outcry that workers have been betrayed. Recall that the NLC President, Joe Ajaero, demanded an immediate reversal of the adjusted fuel price increase by Tinubu’s government. Ajaero said Labour accepted the ₦70,000 minimum wage because the President promised there would not be an increase in fuel price. https://trendburst.com.ng/i-had-no-agreement-with-labour-on-fuel-price-tinubu/ |

Dear Jagaban lovers, What is the progress update on Tinubu’s eight point agenda he promised Nigerians in 2023? This is over one year now. How far? 1. food security; 2. poverty eradication; 3. growth, 4. job creation; 5. access to capital; 6. inclusion; 7. rule of law; and 8. fighting corruption https://punchng.com/translating-tinubus-8-point-agenda-to-recovery/?amp What about the 50 million jobs promised between 2023 to 2026? How many has Tinubu and his government created? https://www.nairaland.com/7821154/tinubu-sets-3-year-economic-revival 1 Like

Demanding that a government withdraws a key plank of its economic policy just because Mr Ajaero doesn't like the policy is taking things too far. The government has been too soft on some of these labour unions. It is questionable whether Mr Ajaero is truly fighting for the people as he claims. A Union leader whose official vehicle is a Land Cruiser costing tens if million can't be taken seriously. It is simple - if they embark on any unreasonable strike, the government should apply the 'no work, no pay' rule. ASUU went on strike for 8 months, Mr Buhari didn't answer them and refused to pay their salary for the period. Nobody begged ASUU before they return to work. |

Tokskob2008: Bro, you wicked small o. One thing is sure though, the government needs to get tougher with belligerent unions. No work, no pay. Simple. Nigerians are tired of waking up daily to new threats of strike from Labour unions. |

Nairaland should require an IQ test before registration. The type of comments here are very shameful. Most of you have no soul. You no longer support what is right but the people whose ideology and clan-ish inclination you like even when they are deep into evil. What a pity 1 Like |

DeLaRue:Even though I know the present NLC President is a mad man,but you telling government to adopt the no work, no pay plan makes you a m a d man too. If the government is doing the right thing, will people think of protesting? Economy is bad ,you are balling and traveling around the world. Borrowing money up and down and it goes to personal pockets. Then you keep telling citizens which are the masses to endure. I say until Nigerians comot ethnicity and religion differences, then drive all these moda Fvckas comot Abuja en,Nigeria go continue sink. |
