The signs of a bad friend or bad relationship are always there. Most times, people choose to ignore, perhaps because the dude is someone people want to be with or is always doling cash. My charge to parents is to be more involved in their children's lives. Older siblings too should be involved in their siblings lives. Don't try to control them, but be their friend. Be their confidant so they can tell you things. There has been too many avoidable incidents like this primarily due to wrong association. This could have been avoided.
