Why Nigerians Must Support October Nationwide Protest by Bebigiby1: 2:15am On Sep 12
As October draws closer, I want to use this medium to appeal to all Nigerians to begin to mobilize for a final showdown that will end the suffering and widespread hopelessness. Nigerians through this nationwide protest need to troop out in mass to demand for an end to the unjust policies and take back this country from the visionless, empty, corrupt, and divisive government of Tinubu. Nigerians need to demand for an end to this government, a total overhaul of the country's political landscape and implementation of urgent reforms that will benefit everyone irrespective of tribe or religion. It is obvious that Tinubu has nothing good to offer, the situation is now unbearable for many Nigerians. Many have died and more will perish over the bad economy as insecurity and cost of living continues to rise uncontrollable. Many people can no longer afford to eat twice a day, take care of family or pay their bills even when they are shuffling 2 to 3 jobs.

Simply put, Tinubu is empty, his tribalistic nepotistic hopelessly corrupt government has failed and has nothing good to offer Nigerians, keeping the government in power till 2027 will only destroy the people and the country's economy totally. Nigerians will be deceiving themselves if they think that they will get a free and fair election in 2027 to vote out the government. For those who are naive, it is time to wake up to reality that Tinubu has already rigged the 2027 presidential election. This is why the best time to demand for change is now, there is no other way but through the nationwide protest. Nigerians must unite and troop out in mass to demand for an end to this callous government with it's insensitive economic policies that is destroying the productive sectors of the economy. This country cannot survive another 2 years of misrule, insensitive and terrible policies of Tinubu..... how many more will have to perish over the nonchalant docility that have characterized the attitude of Nigerians towards this bad government due to divisive tribalism and religious bigotry? How many more lives should be sacrificed for the sake of Tinubu and his selfish political agenda? The situation is no longer sustainable, it is time for Nigerians to free themselves from the evil forces that have been unleashed against them by Tinubu, it is time to end the bad government. For Nigerians to achieve genuine national progress from this nationwide protest, I will list a 3 point workable agenda that Nigerians can demand for during the protest based on order of implementation below….

AGENDA 1: Remove Tinubu as president either through willful resignation or forced impeachment, followed by a total dissolution of the current federal government

AGENDA 2: Establish a caretaker interim federal government setup with a mandate of 2 years to implement the points listed below.

- Stabilize the economy by implementing immediate reversal of floating of the Naira currency policy. Sack current NNPC management, negotiate a fair oil petrol swap deal with Dangote refinery to supply affordable fuel and revive one national refinery (Port Harcourt refinery) within 5 months period.

- Establish a new remuneration scheme that will ensure that Nigerian workers are paid a fair minimum wage that reflects economic realities to boost Nigerians purchasing power and revitalize the economy….

- Constitute a national reformation agenda that will entail representation from each geo political zone with a mandate to overhaul the 1999 constitution or replace it with a people-backed constitution through a sovereign national conference followed by a national referendum. The provisions of this new constitution should scrap the senate arm of the Nigerian legislative system and make legislative job a part-time endeavor. Also reinstate the old national anthem and abolish the one introduced by the 10th Assembly.

- As a matter of urgency, draft and implement provisions for the restructuring of Nigeria's political landscape towards decentralization to uphold Nigeria’s diversity, foster peace through resource control, decentralization of constitutional powers and regional development.

- Implement the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu, all Endsars, #Endbadgovernance protesters and other human rights activists political detainees

- Reform the nation’s security agencies by sacking all current military and paramilitary security chiefs benefiting from widespread insecurity and terrorism across Nigeria

- Reform the nation’s anti-graft agencies (EFCC, ICPC…) by sacking all current heads of the anti-graft agencies and empower the anti-graft agencies to investigate and prosecute corrupt judges that have denied and continue to deny Nigerians access to justice

- Setup judicial panel to probe, prosecute Buhari and Tinubu including all politicians that served under their governments for the role they played in destroying Nigeria's economy through the massive looting and mismanagement that they supervised while in power, recover their loots and deposit it in a special account to be used to fund education, healthcare and infrastructure.

- Reform the nation’s electoral body INEC by sacking and prosecuting the current INEC chairman, reconstitute the Nigerian electoral body INEC to remove corrupt individuals and partisan backed operatives appointed to manipulate elections. Establish diaspora voting rights for Nigerians outside the country

INTERIM FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
The interim federal government will be a decentralised body with no president or vice president positions, it will comprise of 6 members, each member chosen by the people to represent each geopolitical zone of the federation. They will have a mandate of 2 years to implement the policies outlined above. For States, Nigerians residing in each state will decide what will happen to their current state governors, if they choose to keep them in power, these governors will work with the interim federal government to actualize the reforms.

AGENDA 3: Once the electoral reforms and all other reforms listed above including restructuring are done by the interim government within 2 years, a free and fair election should be conducted for each regional government block that will emerge as result of restructuring to usher in a new and better Nigeria founded by the people to foster peace and prosperity....

Nigerians should stop letting Tinubu and other evil politicians to divide them, it is time to end the reign of tribalism and religious bigotry in our national polity, no one benefits when this country's economy and currency is totally destroyed as what is at stake now is a matter of survival and ensuring a better future for the unborn generations.... we must end this cycle of national regression, depression, corruption, lawlessness, impunity, injustice and bad governance before we all perish.....

- Implement the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu, all Endsars and other human rights activists political detainees

Hahahahahahaha!

Nnamdi Kanu will only be released if he can provide Buhari's head.

He promised to return to Abia with Buhari's head when he goes to Abuja, so let him remain in the DSS cell in Abuja until he has secured Buhari's head.

Only an irresponsible government will release a terrorist and anarchist.

Nnamdi Kanu should forget about ever being a free man in this life again.

He will be prosecuted and sentenced to death, but could be pardoned with his sentence commuted to life imprisonment.

You are right that Nnamdi Kanu is guilty of serious crimes but can you also absolve the government? The way he was bundled (kidnapped) in to the country and illegal detained should also be considered.... The court has given order to release him based on how he was brought back to Nigeria, the failure of the government to secure his extradition on legal grounds. What the government is doing now by still detaining him even after several court orders is simply irresponsible, lawless and flagrant violation of his rights.... I am not saying that he shouldn't pay for his crimes but let it be done within acceptable legal frameworks.... Above all, for the sake of national unity I think releasing and granting Nnamdi Kanu pardon will advance peace within the South Eastern states of the country....

In a lawful society, a nationwide peaceful protest is one of the way the masses can tell the president that they have lost confidence in his government..... the moral burden lies with the national assemby to implement the people's wish by impeaching and removing the president once it is confirmed that the majority no longer want the government to continue.... Tinubu will have no choice then to resign to avoid impeachment.... No government can stop the will of the people once they are united in their struggle....

As I said in my post, this government will not offer Nigerians a free and fair election in 2027, that's if Nigerians survive current economic crisis till then.... it is only wishful thinking and a waste of time to believe that you can remove the evil APC government through the ballot.....
Regard the #Endbadgovernance protest that took place in August, you cannot blame protesters for the violent actions of hoodlums and undercover political agents whose mission was to sabotage the protest.... The police primary duty in the event of any protest is to protect peaceful protesters and fish out criminals who may want to take advantage of the protest to destroy or loot public property.... the failure of security agencies to protect lives and properties even during protests is a clear sign that the government has failed. This is another reason why many Nigerians should troop out in mass for the upcoming October nationwide protest to demand for end to the widespread insecurity, bad economy and also to demand for an end to the hopeless government....

What u proposed would only work under standard temperature and pressure as they would say in o level physics

Look at Nigeria as it is, the deep cracks of corruption, nepotism and tribalism runs deep to make us think and work as rational humans.

Which national assembly would move to remove tilumbu is it the one headed by the current senate president....the rubber stamp guy. Which NASS has a moral burden. Most of them are there to enrich themselves or which judiciary has the power to go against him

If Nigeria was a sane country, maybe , just maybe ur proposition may happen but very few people want this country to work, most people want to grab their share from the rot and go

Yes I know the current crop of corrupt politicians in government cannot and will not implement any of the reforms I listed that is needed to salvage this country, this is why I offered a third option of an interim people backed civilian government in my post. There is an urgent need to overhaul our system of government starting with the constitution. This struggle will not be an easy one but it is necessary if we must thrive as a nation.... it is the corrupt selfish tribalistic attitude shared by many Nigerians towards political offices as you said to "grab their share and go" is what led us to where we are now, this is no longer sustainable as Nigeria's economy is about to implode..... it is either we live or die as a nation of selfish, tribalistic, corrupt and religious bigots..... One thing is certain, the country is doomed if we continue on the current path and do nothing to change it....

If national assembly members fail to impeach the president and dissolve the government, the people have the power to recall them immediately and put those who will follow through with it..... As I said no political force or government can stop the will of the people if they are united in their struggle.....

I know my rights, I did not solicit for an unconstitutional removal of the government neither am I asking for a military takeover.....
