Note
1. family business is nobodies' business.
2. for any decision take for the best interest of the business is subjected to a 1001 interpretation
3. trust by sibling is a hard commodity in a family business

my advice to Mr. Kola Abiola

1.Mr. kole abiola should call a family meeting and hand-off all his father business
2. Let the family appoint anyone/ trustee/ people to run the family business
3. all late chief's children are old enough to make their own decisions
4. let him not allow the problems from his sibling will extend to his own children if care is not take.
5. He should build on his father's good will and connection to build his own business

Are you sure that a Nigerian heir will heed to the first advice to Kola? The number 2 advice makes sense in a sane country, it is actually a good way to do things. But sometimes in Nigeria we have a way of bending good things.

Late Chief FRA Williams was not polygamous yet his children's fight over his assets was even more vicious. It's not only in polygamous settings. Siblings rivalry is in every family and this was just being labeled as if the root cause is polygamy.

The battle in the williams family still haven't been settled decades after the man died...... children from same mother, how sad......that's why family bond is so important and parents needs to pay special attention to this.....love should always reign and all children should be equal no matter their short comings......for some it comes naturally but for most, the parents need extra effort.

Polygamy only works for poor Randy men. If you have sense and money and you don’t want to waste your hardwork, run from polygamy. Otherwise everything you are working for is in vain. Don’t even bother. If they don’t sell it, share the money and end up poor. They will fight, kill and destroy themselves over the money. Everything you suffered for will disappear in less than 20yrs.

Teach your children how to make their own money, let them earn their stripes.

Sounds to me like the legendary MKO gave birth to a bunch of lazy, entitled children, whose only "achievement" in life was being born by their father.

A poor person like yourself will not understand what it is like to be from a wealthy polygamous family.

Poor man consolation, the scripture tells us that a good man leaves an inheritance for his childrens’ children.

First wife's children always have the upper hand in a polygamous family after the demise of the father. Children from other wives will lament until they are tired.
You see polygamous men, they actually know they hurt their first wife and they always make up for that in their will, they always will almost everything to the children of their first wife. Chief Dokpesi, late Ado Bayero and lots of others I know did the same thing. Other wives should learn to secure their future while their husband is still alive, period.

Kola Abiola once said in an interview that his father MKO used to tell him in Private
" Kola, have I not created a great Wahala for you with all these women I have acquired ?".

Inheritance is good. But inheritance must not be static.

If my father was superwealthy, I'd rather inherit his financial genes and make my own money than inherit his money which would he squandered if I do not have his money making genes.

May I also plead with the family to stop airing their issues in the public domain? It is getting too much and demystifies the man who launched the family to African fame.

So if your father is supperwealthy you will live wretched like your father had nothing while some of your siblings enjoy his wealth that belong to all of you abi.

You're right! His four children fought very dirty. I think they're still on it, while the one whos deceased handed the fight to his children to continue the rift!

FRA Williams case was clearly an exception. The majority of siblings rivalry occur in polygamous settings. And note that siblings rivalry is not in EVERY family, that's a very false blanket statement.

My father owes me an upbringing and an education. Once he has done these, anything else he gives me is out of his good heart and not because he owes me anything.

What is the guarantee that those you claim are living off the wealth are actually living well? What is your guarantee that those fighting to receive would live well when they receive? I have seen children of the wealthy failing spectacularly because they lacked the intelligence to manage what was left to them.

Smh. There is nothing exceptional about the FRA Williams' children rivalry. Such a family would have even raised highly competitive and high performance children so nothing is unusual about their siblings rivalry.

You are ignorant about the topic of siblings rivalry so I recommend that you study hard and wide to understand this kind of interesting human and sociological perspective wink

Siblings rivalry is in every family with two or more children and except the family has one child or none then siblings rivalry is there and wise enlightened families understand this wink

Below is an interesting academic report to help enlighten you

Read it wink

Exceptional is different from being an exception. Don't confuse yourself. An occurrence that is 1 out of 1000 is an exception, how many monogamous families have you seen on the pages of newspapers dragging themselves. I challenge you to mention at least 9 other monogamous families with such issue, meanwhile polygamous cases of rivalry are commonplace.

I repeat, siblings rivalry is NOT in every family. You are free to speak for your own family and those you know.

I know that you will not read it because you assume siblings rivalry is always harmful and you are not teachable. O ma ṣe o. I will no longer engage you on the topic of siblings rivalry since it's more difficult for you to comprehend.

Never mind again, I have removed the research report on it I shared earlier since you will not read it or comprehend the topic. You don't even understand what is meant by sibling rivalry that is as old as human existence wink

Nothing to do with polygamy. it is a reflection of the family and the family is a reflection of the man. If your wealth was acquired via questionable means...

If your wealth was acquired via questionable means, it is not a surprise that your family exhibit certain questionable tendencies whether polygamous or monogamous. It is the values and example set by you that will flow down to your offspring. Like someone said, even children of monogamous families squabble over inheritance.

If they have issues in monogamy as you have said, they will have more than double squabbles in polygamy.
