well if your using mysql, you have to run mysqldump. This will compres your database into a text file, then log on to phpbb on your server and import database.
syntax for mysqldump
mysqldump -u root -p dbname>textfilename
dbname stands for ure database name
textfilename stands for the name you want to call your textfile. Please note the textfile will be dumped in your mysql/bin folder. You can research on mysqldump. Hope this helps

If your remote hosting server is running on apache, then their is a high possiblity that it will be using CPANEL.

1. When you log in to your CPANEL, at the bottom of the page you will see a mysql icon or link, click on this mysql icon link.

2. At the tale bottom of the mysql page, click on link with phpmyadmin on it.

3. In the PHPMYADMIN page, click on SQL link, this will prompt a popup window.

4. In the SQL popup, there is a textarea that you can copy your sql code from the file and paste in the text area. and click on a go button at the end to run the sql query.

Lets see how it goes.

SQL is not MySQL.

It seems the guy is on pure Windows platform so may not be doing anything with MySQL considering the fact he is even moving from Access.

Two Options.

1) Right click the Database and then use the script option to copy the database to the Server, the tables, the stored procedures,  everything and then you can back up any data you have on there,  move it to the server and try a restore on the copy Database and see if that works

2) Use SQL's Copy Wizard to copy the database to the server if you are using Enterprise version

The information I gave him there is for MS SQL ,  which is what I use. Works well if you log in remotely to your server using windows remote too. I mean since you built the DB on your local machine, you can log in using windows remote and then copy over the scripts or the backup or even copy the version on the local machine to the remote machine
