All these commissions here and there require huge fund to maintain. And we are always told Nigeria does not have money o!

This is long overdue, considering the impact of overpopulation on the South-West, especially on Lagos... But I hope this won't become another NDDC where budgets are usually siphoned and mismanaged...

Has any state in Nigeria received half of the investment Lagos has received from the federal government of Nigeria ?

Not even Abuja has received up to what Lagos has received, former FCT for 77 years, they say to whom much is given much is also expected, so spare us that bull-sheet, what we should be talking about is cutting cost of governance and not bloating it, all the other commissions created in the past, what have they done for their regions?

This is long overdue, considering the impact of overpopulation in the southwest, especially on Lagos... Lagos should have been given a special status since, cos everyone from every Nigerian tribe lives in Lagos. Most projects are funded by the state, while the focus has been on the Niger Delta region (which is totally necessary) and the North.

I went to a state outside Lagos recently and noticed there were only few people, most people have moved to Lagos, thereby putting extra pressure on the resources of the state, as well as that of Ogun state.

I think the government should educate the populace of what should be expected from all the Development Commissions.

Though it is fantastic but expectations should be matched with serious performances.

Where is Oodua Investment Commission or something like that?
Where is Agbekoya and the rest?
All these should be mearged with the South West Development Commissions.


I guess attracting FOREIGN INVESTMENTS, Creating Youth Employment Opportunities and GRASSROOTS WELFARISM should be their major focus

Since there's a development commission for South, North, East and now West.
It means we are now back to status quo.

Dey play, NDDC act will definitely be ammended or excluding certain things. They might only retain 13% derivation to those states.

Every region has has development commission this is nonsense let us then scrap ministries

And they will still not get developed because these development commissions are money embezzlement commissions that do absolutely nothing for the community they are meant to develop.

Go to the south senatorial district and riverine oil producing communities of ondo state and you will realise that nddc haven't brought any developments to them almost 20 years after it's creation. Many of these communities didn't even have electricity for 15 years!!
