There are many more revisions to be made. I wonder how people who sheepishly defended him for making a wild and erroneous assertion would feel now that he has repented.

This man claims that he has conversations with God and has even had God drink tea with him while having breakfast. How come he is still making such glaring errors if he has a direct line of communication with God as he claims?

It takes a great deal of humility to do this...

I am not sure Humility is correcting yourself when you have been exposed to the whole world and the whole world knows you are wrong. Would he have apologized if it were the days before the internet and the comment was known just to his church members?

Catching a child with his hand in the cookie jar leaves him with no choice than to admit it was him and say sorry. The sorry does not mean he is sorry for stealing, it could be regret for being caught. It’s different from a child who later comes and says that cookie that was missing, I was the one who took it.

It is good he reversed himself but that is not equal to humility. To start with carrying yourself like you are God is not humility.

Kidnapping: RCCG petitions Jonathan…to stage one million-man protest

ABUJA—The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, yesterday, commenced a nationwide collection of signature of its members that would partake in a planned one million-man protest rally against the spate of insecurity in Nigeria.

The General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who yesterday initiated the move, insisted that it was high time religious organisations raised awareness over the depreciating standard of security in the country, adding “we cannot afford to celebrate, clinking glasses and congratulating each other when a horrendous decimation of the most vulnerable is picking up a pace and our stock of human capital heading for the abyss.”

According to a petition sent to President Goodluck Jonathan by the spiritual leader of RCCG, Adeboye, which was equally attached to the registration form that was used, yesterday, to collect signatures of member interested in the protest rally, “we, your subjects and citizens of this nation whose signatures appear hereunder, greet you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and congratulate you and every Nigerian on this auspicious occasion of the Jubilee of our nation.

“As we mark our 50th anniversary as an independent nation, we are faced with the emergence of kidnapping as the latest Nigerian night mare and one of the most serious threats to our common well being, no one is safe.”

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on Nigerians facing hard times to call on God for help.

Adeboye speaking yesterday at the June thanksgiving service with the theme: ‘Lifter Up of My Head’, held at the Church’s National headquarters, Throne of Grace (TOG) Ebute-Metta, said things were hard for some individuals.

Speaking at the service with special prayers for all civil servants, workers in private sectors, youths, corps members, self-employed, unemployed and their families, he partly stated:

“…If you need provision, if things are hard and I know things are hard for quite a few of us, call on the one whose name is Jehovah El-Shaddai, the God who is more than enough…

“Call on Him – the one who is more than enough and He will meet your needs…He has many ways, depending on what is your need. When all ways are blocked, call on Him who is called the way when you don’t even know what’s going on.”

While speaking with newsmen, Pastor-in-charge of the RCCG National Headquarters, Adebayo Adeyemo, who gave an update on the church’s empowerment programme, said 1000 persons recently benefited from the vocational skills training and are already producing what they learnt.

Tithe is not for Christians.

No where after the death of Jesus did we read of any apostle paying tithe.

The commercialization of the gospel has led many to manipulate Christians to pay tithe.

Even if you were to pay tithe according to the old testament, tithe was never paid in any currency.
Levites, who are descendant of Levi are the ones entitled to tithe. How many of your pastors are descendants of Levi?

The old testament said that you can give your tithe to widows, poor and needy. But these scammers on pulpit will never mention that. They prefer to use Malachi, their favourite verse to deceive people.

One can even eat his/her own tithe as written in Deuteronomy.

Bible scholar indeed

Your initial statement made people to pay tithe with fear rather from free will. For so many years, you put such fears on the mind of your followers. May God have mercy on you and other preachers for so many truth not said properly

Thanks for the apology, it's now time for restitution.

Calculate how much you have made from the time you made the statement to this time that you realised that you are wrong. Calculate everything and give all the money to charity. Then, your apology will be accepted. After all that's what the bible teaches.
