I know the northerners are responsible for this due their unending love for scrap metals ( aluminum condemn) more so ,they like forming stupid things from inventions that have already been made...... helicopter wey no fit fly na landcopter ...

cheesy

Even the guy that assembled this isnt impressed with his own work

To improve on this, he'd prolly have to undo the whole thing, get admitted into a Uni and go study the relevant course

the last point u made was worthless with all the uni in Nigeria hv u had any correct prof bringing up any unique invention in our country..... Other than them being use as ballot box managers....the highest we do in this country is to predict weather changes and flood .....

This is not 1900. You don't create something like this in 2024 and claim it is progress. Even used a bent ceiling fan as the tail rotor!

They can take one of the helicopters bought and reverse engineer to get something credible. This one mus be a joke.
This is an individual project by a probably poor, struggling young man with passion to invent something, and you are here talking as if its the Nigerian nation or an organization that created it.

Reverse engineer with which fund, tools and laboratory or workshop? You guys will just open mouth wa.

Considering the personality and crude nature of the person behind this project, he tried his best and need encouragement, sound technical guide, funding and further mentoring and collaboration for him to get it right.

Why are they being mocked? Thomas Edison who invented the light bulb had no formal education. Because of him, today we can say ā€œUp NEPA!ā€

The Wright brothers who built the first successful powered airplane attended only high school. They failed with their invention many times before succeeding.

Steve Jobs was not an engineer or college graduate when he built the Apple computer. He dropped out of school, built Apple, then went back to school.

All great inventors fail again and again. Some were laughed at. But they kept going until they achieved their dream.

Whoever built this plane should be encouraged. At least he is building something. Though he is not inventing something, his mind is being broadened. From this, he may end up inventing something useful like others before him.
Wat trash are u saying. Are we in Edison era or Faraday days? This is 2024 mate. Weve gone beyond invention to innovation. And besides, helicopter has been built and people perfected since the 1930s so what's there again to build again what warrants this nonsense piece of scrap!

A group of Nigerian local engineers has recently captured attention by showcasing a helicopter they built using discarded materials such as ceiling fans, rods, and other scrap items. The impressive display featured the ceiling fan rotating on the helicopterā€™s tail and a custom-made fan on top, which intrigued onlookers. shocked

However, despite the anticipation, the helicopter did not take off, leaving many viewers slightly disappointed. Some had hoped to see at least a small lift-off, but the aircraft remained grounded. Nonetheless, there was an outpouring of praise for the engineersā€™ creativity and effort.

One viewer expressed admiration, saying, "This is great, I initially thought it would lift up a little, but it didn't. If we had visionary leaders, talented persons like this would be invested in. Unfortunately, we donā€™t; then when foreigners utilize their talents, all the government does is write congratulatory speeches or complain about Nigerians leaving the country."

While some celebrated the ingenuity, others were critical of the project. "They should stop all these. This is the 21st century. If you cannot do it the way the whites are doing it, forget it and stop wasting your precious and productive time," one viewer remarked. shocked

So growth should stop right? Why donā€™t you tell Elon Musk to stop with all his projects including travelling and living in space. You keep on using the recent versions of technology and you donā€™t know that these were by people who recreated and improved on what was already in existence. With this kind of mindset of yours, it is understandable that Nigeria is where it is today. All about consuming and not producing.

You don't get the point, no country in this current age can achieve industrialisation by artisans trying to reinvent the wheel using the crudest tools they can find. It is irrelevant if you find his /her commendable or not. Someone assembles a scrap of metal that is not comparable to even the first generation of helicopters built in the 1920s. The kind of funding and collaboration that it would take to upgrade the project, by the time they are ready with a market product, the product would have been obsolete in the market. And who will be foolish enough to fund it?

This is the 21st century; working hard is not enough; working smart is required.

Don't be silly. It's clearly just a hobby. It's no different from Americans having project cars from the 20s, 50s, or 70s in their garage.
