Lolz419: They should add it to their valuation and sell them off. As long as Government officials keep running the business on state’s funds, those refineries will never work. My 2 cents |

Well for those insulting him, u r ignorant. The 3 refineries we have are outdated and govt have proven not to be a good managers of such enterprise so the best advice is to buy a stake in dangote to force some form of price regulation. Not buying a stake in dangote is the real monopoly If he says govt shud sell the refineries no one will buy cos they r outdated and the cost of running them far outweighs the revenue they can generate Y'all need to be informed b4 trash talking d minister |

I have already said it that the federal government should sell out those government refineries to the private sector, private investors entrepreneurs to operate and run..it's the private sector private investors entrepreneurs that can run and operate refineries and bussinesses very well and effectively..the role of government is to provide a conducive environment for bussinesses, refineries to thrive and excel and expand not to operate and run refineries |

Helpfromabove1: So you think the Government should continue the resurrection of the refineries? .... that they been doing for the past 24 years? ... pumping billions into it with absolutely nothing to show? I don't even think Dangote will want to invest in those antique refineries. Hmmm ... prefer the theft and corruption of a few. |

SmartPolician: Self-loathing is the bane of our Biafra brothers and sisters! We will sell our own or work against the interests of our people to gain self-aggrandizement. Why will this MOFO advocate dumping the Igwuocha Refinery for the Dangote Refinery? He would have rather advocated for the refinery to be completely refurbished and get back into operation at full capacity. But because of the pittance given to him, he had to fight against his self-interest. What a pitty! |

SmartPolician: Oga, the guy have seen what we can't see even if we climbed iroko tree. Obasanjo sold it, Yar'Adua reverted and now to be sold again because it can never work. Government has been wasting Nigeria money and patience by keep going forward and backward on policies since 1999. Those that are benefiting from share of Friday Friday money will not want it sold. But we all know that private is more productive that public establishments. |

ufotunang: ^^^ Those refineries will be sold. Its only a matter of time. But after those refineries have been sold, Nigerians will always be uncomfortable whenever they see Aramco still remains a going concern. Nigerians will always have diarrhoea whenever they see Equinor becoming an even bigger behemoth than it is now. Nigerians will always feel small when they see Gazprom (despite Russia's many problems) still remains a viable entity. The structural and institutional failures that led to the fall of NNPC are not going to disappear. They are not going anywhere, anytime soon. And so...even if Nigerians submit to the "government should sell the refineries because it has no business in business" anthem, what of other sectors of government? Fertilizer supply rackets in the federal ministry of agriculture will continue. The same ministry will continue to build mosques... https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/462900-nigerias-agric-ministry-spends-n30-million-to-build-mosque.html https://punchng.com/we-built-n30m-mosque-for-displaced-herders-agric-ministry/ There will be more lurid tales like these about security and defence budgets...: https://gazettengr.com/ex-sokoto-governor-bafarawa-spent-n4-6-billion-arms-fund-on-prayer-against-insecurity-luxury-cars-others-efcc/ https://www.nairaland.com/2785408/using-bafarawa-prayer-technique-answer-following Are we going to sell the ministries of education and defence too? SmartPolician:Thishas always been the final endgame.. if you know you know. With the help of Buhari administration they set it all up but I believe, hope, pray or think tinubu is trying to stop this. 🤷♂️ If this happens Dangote and cabal has full monopoly of oil resources and it will just be a shame on Nigeria |
