justwise: Hello, Justwise! I applied for my visa, today, and I've paid the application fee. but the mail that was sent to me states that i need to have my flight reservation showing my intended dates into and out of the UK, yet they advised not to purchase my ticket before visa is issued. It's difficult to find an airline operator that wld refund full fares, after making a reservation. Is it absolutely necessary to buy my return tickets, and submit along with other supporting documents? Thanks |

letsgohome: You do not have to make any flight reservation. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by letsgohome: 8:00am On Jan 31, 2013 |
justwise: I got a confirmation of my completed application, with the visa office location, via email. It was stated as part of the supporting documents. Sometimes, I just feel they contradict themselves with some statements. I attached the part that states it!

letsgohome: It stated there that you should not purchase flight ticket until the visa is out. They are just giving you FAQ. |

I have a question for justwise, i have been traveling to the uk since 2004 while i was in uni visiting during my holidays. I last travelled in 2006 and my visa expired in 2007. I always leave with my uncle whenever i visit since he usually sends invitation for me to obtain my visa. Prior to my coming back to naija in 2007 i had a fight with him and he threatened to contact the BHC neva to allow me into the UK. How far he went with the threat i dont knw but since we have not been communicating since. Now i want to visit in the summer of this year as a tourist booking hotel accommodation which will not attract invitation from anybody. My question is on the visa application form there is a question requesting the details of any relatives in the Uk. If i give accurate infor dat my uncle can spoil my chances of visiting and also if i have been visiting on my uncles request wont it raise suspicion i decided to lodge in a hotel or source other accommodation option? |

You will be refused if you lie about not having anybody in the UK because its on their record that you do. There is nothing wrong with booking a hotel, you don't have to stay with relatives every time and not a requirement that one must have somebody in the UK in order to qualify for visa. |

tamica8: whats your definition of a family in the application? Well at then the new forms were not in It was aunt and uncle and staffs like that I choose my aunt as my family member in the application |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Mike30890: 8:04pm On Jan 31, 2013 |
Vicjustice: Nope in my third application I did not counter what they said in the refusal letter which they said a country I know nobody or have any relationship or friends and I intend to stay for 14days they not sure I can relly on myself but possibly public funds so with the third application I changed the category to a family visit which my aunt was the family I had there she sent the invite and all I'm now thinking on convincincing the visa officer in my 4th application that before my 2nd application I knew no one there but it was the refusal letter in the second application that made me ask family members about my relatives in the uk before I was referred to my aunt so that made me change the category in the third application to family visit. Or is there any better way please help me Vicjustice please!! |

You are mixing things up here, from your refusal letter you posted here many times, you did not apply for student visa, that statement is for visiting visa refusal. This is student visa guidance https://www.nairaland.com/826936/uk-student-visa-tier-4 Read the first page of that link |

Hi Justwise! Need ur nuggets here! I was born in the UK when Citizenship by birth was automatic. Though, I'm just processing my passport now. One major challenge is that my hospital records (supporting docs) were destroyed in a fire in 2004.An affidavit was made to cover that, but the affidavit is also missing now. I got in touch with the hospital where I was born, but they told me that my documents had been destroyed in accordance with the Data Protection Law 25yrs limit. I intend to apply for Masters as a citizen next year. What line of action can I take now? |

What line of action can I take now?Do you have your birth certificate?if you don't have your birth certificate, then I wii,l advice you to go get another affidavit and maybe you can plead with them to backdate it, that is if it's issued in Nigeria.another thing you can use is the pictures your parents took during or after your birth in uk.. But as it stand now, you don't have any evidence to show that you were actually born in uk cos the hospital don't have your record also.ask your parents if the hospital collected your finger print after your birth then..that might help you |

Hi Justwise, I hope you can help me here. I am applying for a settlement visa. My sponsor is self-employed, and she does her own taxes. We sent in our application including tax returns, but we just received an email from the ECO requesting us to submit "the latest unaudited accounts and an accounts certificate of confirmation, from an accountant who is a member of a UK Recognized Supervisory Body". Does this mean she will have to have her taxes done by a professional accountant in order for it to be approved? Any recommendations or advice on how to do this quickly? Thank you in advance! |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(m): 7:52pm On Feb 01, 2013 |
Crosser005: Hi Justwise, The highlighted part is exactly what you need to do. Get an accountant who is a member of a UK Recognized Supervisory Body to do it. |
