Sujimoto Group has responded to recent allegations surrounding the LeonardoBySujimoto project, Nigeria’s flagship high-rise development. Following claims of false pretense, fraudulent misrepresentation, and criminal breach of trust, Dr. Sijibomi Ogundele and his team met with officials at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja. Armed with comprehensive documentation, including title deeds, project approvals from Lagos State, and financial records, they provided full transparency on the project. The FCID’s review confirmed that the claims were baseless and clarified that project delays are solely a result of broader economic challenges impacting the industry.

Furthermore, the Group explained that these delays stem from skyrocketing costs and economic conditions affecting businesses across Nigeria. Core construction materials, such as cement and steel, have surged in price, impacting project budgets and timelines. During this time, a valued client who purchased an off-plan unit requested a refund. Following amicable discussions, both parties reached a resolution, highlighting the Group’s commitment to client satisfaction.

Despite external pressures, the Leonardo vision remains strong. The project, set to break ground in November 2024, is on track for completion within 36 months. This 36-story landmark is more than just a structure; it represents an ambitious leap for Nigeria’s luxury real estate, destined to set a new benchmark as Sub-Saharan Africa’s tallest high-rise. Dr. Ogundele shared that each challenge reinforces their resolve to bring this vision to life.
