This is my grouse with African leadership: they tend to do almost everything; does it mean that if a leader is not around (especially the good ones), nothing seems to work? I believe that many persons know that this fraud has been ongoing, but have refused to keep mute over a potential malpractice that would even affect both the culprit and his "docile" accomplices. 3 Likes |

Ebubu7:. This humbleness and meek is a common trait among us the izzis. We find it difficult to go hard on our fellow man but when we are pushed to the wall,we tend to over do it He surrounded himself with most of the state's cabals;I guess he did that to be on guard when the umahis, Onyekachi Nwebonyi them will launch their attack so that he will have a fallback plan but those guys are beginning to take advantage of him seriously BTW,it seems you live here in Abakaliki but your operation here doesn't suggest you are Igbo Me I be confam nwa Abakaliki,an izzi man to the core |

That's the story of Nigeria and believe me it's not peculiar to Ebonyi. It happens in all the states. The same people will begin to tell you how bad the government is forgetting that as civil servants they are part of the government. There is none and I repeat none patriotic Nigerian. 5 Likes |

That's why sometimes when you see the way some folks view things you will understand that they are not honest themselves as such they feel everyone is like them .. |

The average Nigerian is corrupt, venal and unscrupulous. Our leaders only reflect the values common to us because they are selected from within us. 4 Likes |

No be today. Since 1722. Dem don pack all mediation dispensing sachets etc go their one-room clinics. Make the governor enter dr.ug store for the local government and request for of Goods Receipt Note and compare it with their inventory register, requisition note, and the invoices. He go see so many near-expiry d’rugs (2-6 months’ time) that they just bought (cheaply o) but dem don raise voucher for wey go expire in 2030. Chairman hand too nor clean. Na so dem dey do. Mercenary123: Yes even in Ebonyi state the Izzi are widely known by every proper Ebonyi man, to be meek and humble, some of Ebonyi people take it lower by calling the Izzi "timid", abusing his humility. Sorry to use that word cos I'm also Ebonyian. Yes I'm from Ebonyi state, Ngbo in particular. Some of my actions on here are intentional, deliberate and more of politics. I hate the abuse of Ebonyi people especially Abakaliki bloc, by ndi Igbo especially Anambra bloc. I hate it with passion, reason why at times I bring up topics to embarrass them before the world and bring down their self-esteem or confidence. Which is what they have successfully done to the Ebonyi man. You see me on Ebonyi threads defending the interest of Ebonyi state, you never see me opening the shame of Ebonyi because I'm patriotic to the state, you see me publicising any unappealing news of Anambra because they call us inferior Igbos, Fulani, backward people et cetera. So I take the fight to them; solely to the Anambras. Do you see me fighting Imo and Abia here? Nope. Enugu ostracises us "socially" too with Northerner or Hausa slogan, but not to the extent which Anambra people do. So it was in my knowledge that, if I take the progenitor and originator of it all; Anambra to a fight, Enugu people will easily fall in line and respect themselves. So let's say I went to grab the devil by the horn and leave his archangels, if I defeat the devil, his arch-angels will automatically scamper away and accord me respect. As for Nwifuru, he's in the middle of the sea and looking for allies in order to win second term, but the allies he brought close to himself to ensure he wins 2nd term are not allowing his welfare policies and programs to trickle down to the benefit of the common Ebonyian. They steal half-way everything Nwifuru approves for the ordinary man. Many projects Nwifuru disbursed money for, are left un-started, the ones which were started have almost all been left and abandoned and equipment have all left the project site. Senator Sam Egwu was given 50million for a project in my Senatorial zone, the road is not done, several months since award of the sum, till now as I speak! But he can't say much or act too aggressive because he still needs the support of these local strong men to win re-election. This is what I would have advised him. Give the contracts to reputable companies to ensure their completion for the good of the common man, who are the actual voters. Occasionally give raw cash or other favors to the henchmen, occasionally, in a way to have them accessible towards electioneering time. That way, both the common man, and stakeholders win. I'm from Umuogudu-Oshia in Ngbo community, Ohaukwu L.G.A. THilfiger, I saw your comment. 3 Likes |

We will continue to face the same challenges if we fail to implement digital systems across all levels of government. This is the inevitable result of relying on outdated manual processes. Do you realise how many ministries are involved in this? The governor cannot possibly oversee everything, and even some commissioners and permanent secretaries might contribute to these issues. It is time to move away from this archaic, 17th-century style of governance and adopt modern, contemporary solutions. History has shown that without strong systems in place, human nature can lead to chaos, with individuals resorting to unimaginable actions to survive. Effective systems provide the structure and accountability needed to maintain order and integrity. Key processes such as procurement, storage, stock-keeping, and replenishment must be fully digitised, with strict maker-checker validation standards to ensure transparency and minimise opportunities for corruption or inefficiency. It is time to embrace change and build systems that can support sustainable governance. |
