A social critic, Aisha Yesufu, has told the leader of the United Kingdom Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch, not to use her “Nigerian poverty mentality” to lower standards in the UK.

Yesufu’s statement, shared in a post on her X handle, came in response to Badenoch allegedly describing her upbringing in Nigeria as being overshadowed by fear and insecurity in a country plagued by corruption.

The Conservative leader, who identified as Yoruba, reportedly stated that she has nothing in common with the northern part of Nigeria.

Apart from this, Badenoch recently insisted that she stands by her remarks about Nigeria despite criticism that she is denigrating the country. She also took a dig at the nation’s police structure.

However, Yesufu argued that such comparisons would not have arisen if the UK did not provide an enabling environment for looted Nigerian wealth.

She said that Badenoch should grow up and move on.

Yesufu wrote:

“Kemi Badenoch @KemiBadenoch should grow up and move on! Context is everything! She was asked if she trusts the British police. How is what happened with the Nigerian police a reason for her to determine if she trusts the British police or not?

“What also brought in our poverty?

“If the UK doesn’t provide an enabling environment for people to loot Nigeria’s wealth and take it there, ‘poor’ and ‘Nigeria’ wouldn’t be in the same sentence.

“So, because the bar is low in Nigeria, it doesn’t mean she should lower the bar for their police! She should not use her Nigerian poverty mentality to lower the bar there!

“@PoliceNG, you see your life? Always disgracing us up and down!”

Do you notice that they have stopped describing her as "a chieftain of the Labour Party" or "a strong supporter of Peter Obi" or "a leader of the Obidient movement"?

Kemi Badenoch - Ready to die for King Charlie and country.

Ms Badenoch added, “Somebody once told me when I was very young that my surname was a name for people who were warriors. They protected the crown, and that’s what I see myself as doing.”

The British politician added, “I am here to protect and I will die protecting this country because I know what’s out there.”

Aisha is just another northern elite mentally and the underlined proves that conclusively. Where was your poverty when you were using free oil billions to build mosques, do hajj pilgrimage and fuel religious supremacy?
She also blamed UK for accomodating the deposits of corrupt elite. The fight against corruption has to start from here because it is hard to prove a fund is not from clean source once within UK territory. How did the money leave Nigeria? Why wasnt it stopped at exit of our financial system?

Is it the UK too that has stopped us from going after the sponsors of terrorism from the northern part of the country the way it is fine for others?
Is it the UK thats grounding our local refineries and forcing us to export all our raw materials?
Is it the UK thats is not diversifying our e onomy for us.

Aisha is absolutely correct to call Kemi out for her duplicity. And if the citizens of the UAE feel like doing exactly the same, that's their prerogative too.

Teacher don't teach me nonsense! Even the dog on the street knows UK officials like Kemi Badenoch (she is a former trade minister) provide many conduits for stolen wealth -- New research shows that the world’s top three corporate tax havens are all British Overseas Territories.

What I notice about this kemi issue is that when she's asked a question she can't answer her escape route is to talk bad about Nigeria

Those fools supporting this lady doesn't even know the implications of what they are supporting, to them it's just anything anti Nigeria

Yes because Dubai and Switzerland are eagerly waiting to conceal whatever escapes British territories.
