You can't be comparing western lifestyle with female circumcision... Those women would have their womanhood taken away from them just so they don't enjoy their sexuality as women all in the name of making all those insecured men feel secured.

Culture is not a choice, it's something we were born into and are obligated to follow in order to be accepted by the society, some cultural practices can be good while others can be barbaric like this female circumcision... When my late grandfather died, I was forced to shave off my long beautiful hair, I didn't want to, but the family pressured me to do it because apparently it's part of our culture and if I didn't do it, I'd experience bad lucks... I was only in my early teens and they instilled that fear in me that something bad was going to happen to me if I didn't shave it off.

Now whenever a close family member dies, my first concern is my hair... When my late brother died, the first question that I asked when they broke the news to us was if we were going to shave off our hair again, but the family decided that we the younger ones would be given a trim since we had just shaved our hair for our grandfather's funeral... My grandfather died in December and my brother died the following February.

But when my grandmother died, I was old enough and I refused to have my hair shaved... The entire family ganged up on me except my father, but I still refused... They threatened that bad things will befall me, but still I wasn't moved by their threats even though it wasn't easy... Till this day, I haven't experienced any bad lucks.

All these cultural values helped shape our lives as a people and family. In America, it's so common to see single mothers around you. They got pregnant as early as 17years of age and would have had kids for different men by the time they're 25. We're having them in Nigeria nowadays too. Go on tiktok and you'd see a handful of them. It's risky to copy them verbatim just because we want to westernise. That's why I love Chinese and Indians. They take along their cultural heritage wherever they go.They all teach their children born overseas their culture and language.Hardly would you link any scandals or crime to them as they do, Nigerians and other africans.

I’ve heard stories of FGM. Apparently, they cut the clitoris which causes women to experience sexual pleasure. I don’t know if it completely cuts off the ability to enjoy intimacy. This is done to supposedly to lower the female libido which could cause the lady to become promiscuous in her teens or marriage. Very twisted way of thinking if you ask me. Have also heard that complications do occur during childbirth. I’d suggest you educate yourself via the internet. Also, consult a gynecologist for advice if possible.

One my worst experience is being in a relationship with a lady that is circumcised.
