Two wrongs do not make a right. If the Lecturer pushed her as she claimed which is a lie from the video we saw there are better ways of addressing the issue. She reacted with insolence. As the man returned and demanded she deleted the video showing his face knowing he is a man that has authority over her as her teacher she should have simply abliged his request to avoid trouble but nay as is the case with this present generation of youths they must prove stubborn and now she has gotten the reward of stubbornness and ill behavior.
Wisdom is profitable to direct and as I always tell people it's not every battle that you are justified to fight that you should fight. At times it's better to walk away and avoid unforseen circumstances.
I agree, it is not every battle to fight. I say it was largely communication issues between both parties. While the lecturer demanded video being deleted, if the video was important to her and not wanting it deleted, she could have told him she'd edit it, and if not , actually deleted it. There's no reason to pick fights when there's no need.

However, as the situation has come to this, based on my experience with cases of abuse and getting court justices for damages, if I was her lawyer, I'm not a lawyer, I'd put the below.

Cases of abuse:
1. Tapped her to shove her aside (let's assume this is excuseable)
2. Demanding that her intellectual property (her recorded video) be deleted
3. Abusing his office of being a lecturer to demand the no. (2).
4. Forcefully taking possession of the lady's property (her phone) without any police or court order.
// In which the lady reacted by defending/fighting him.
5. Clutching the lady's wrists and with the intent to cause the physical danger of breaking her wrists.

The lady's only offence : defending herself from people like the lecturer who ride on the sentiments of others and abuse their office of being lecturer to act unjustly against students who are largely humans, and also lawful residents of Nigeria.

Example of misogynists that the society should purge itself of. So, you didn't see the lady as a human being first, but a woman hence calling me woman wrapper.

I fear for you. And I wish the lady would be surrounded by sane people going forward, not some lecturer that wouldn't think twice to push her aside.

Abeg shut up!!!!

Not expecting anything less though but If they had done otherwise which I doubt, it would have been an irredeemable damage to the institution and by extension Nigerian higher institutions.

I don't support this verdict, expulsion is damn too heavy. One session suspension is fair enough.
In the work environment, If you beat your colleague u will not only be sacked, there is a very high likelihood u will be handed over to the police, but u want someone that raised her hand and beat up her teacher and tore his clothes to be slapped on the wrist. Sane societies are created by putting in place and enforcing strong punitive measures for misbehaviour

Saying yes, she assaulted the lecturer. The lecturer also quite assaulted her, abused her and coerced her unlawfully. What is the organization doing about that? They were public about the humiliation of this lady? What are they going to do about their staff?

She instigated the whole thing, you cannot tell anyone how to react when you are an instigator. Besides, the lecturer did not even do anything to her aside holding her - which was a natural response to her holding him. Coerced her unlawfully Wtf are you smoking?

That's besides, your statement is incorrect. A student and a lecturer are called "members of the institution", there's no staff - client. Just that one has more hierarchy than the other.

Members of institution and members of staff are two different things. Stop trying to twist things to fit your narrative. A lecturer is a member of staff!!! Go and ask/check any university on the planet. Students on the other hand are not members of staff.

Ask yourself, who pays and who gets paid? Therein lies your answer.

This doesn't look like an official letter from the University. This is more like a public court decision on her. She has been convicted already by the social media and I expect the panel that was set up to examine the case to follow the same social media decision. undecided

Are you at defence of the girls' act or what? cool

In essence, I defend none. But the statement of the university shows they were bias and perverted justice (wherein they also have the duty to protect their student). They should also publicly condemn the lecturer in his offences, though they could be euphemistic. And to equate their bias, if the lady wants fairness, she has a case, and that'd be such fairness.

I detect injustices or unfairness, and especially to rather vulnerable people.

Expelling the lady? Trying to say that the lecturer's behavior is justified. I mean, how would Nigeria not have politicians flexing powers on their electorates.

What a perversion of justice on the abused lady.

Edited:
Shoving people aside is actually what lead to deaths in stampedes and crowded areas. People need to stop shoving people and let the party see you, and actually pave way while you say the "excuse me", not shove people, disorderliness.

Without your type, there would be no opposite for wisdom 😂

If she goes this way then it means she is not wise. She will grow old trying to prove her case. She should cut her losses and plead with Nigerians for forgiveness. They are easily forgiving like I have said before. Her reactions is what really offended many people not even the events before that. Even if she was justified laying a hold on your lecturer and trying to tear him to shreds like an angry tiger while your fellow female students and all were pleading with you is simply unforgivable.
