Child Labor (as defined by the International Labor Organization).

That's not child Labour as defined by the ILO. The ILO accommodates Labour for children above 12.

If this was in Western world, the parents would have been in jail cooling off for child labour and abuse. And the government will take the child away from the parents for negligence.

But here in the zoo called Nigeria, they were hailing the child who ought to be in school learning basic education.

Chai! May Nigeria not happen to any of my children.

Every one s shouting child labour. It is obvious that his parents could not afford to send him to school, probably did not have a house to stay. It is possible he is also the bread winner of the family. I raise my cap for him.

Is that his father beside him? A grown woman and a grown man caused their own child to have to bear such a burden at such a young age? What a despicable sight! 😭😭😭😭😭
In your locality, are there no children hawking or doing little job to help their family?

You are outdated.
Say, if these were in West minus the US.
That said, the parents could be charged with negligence but not child labor.

It is wrong for a 13 year old boy to be the breadwinner while the parents are still alive
and functioning.

We don't have any such as kids are not allowed to engage in such labor, and are especially restricted from all kinds of work during school hours. undecided

This is nothing but a capital form of child abuse. Pikin wey suppose dey class with his mates is being used for hard Labor. This is child abuse. Everything for Nigeria na cruise. What a joke this is indeed!

How many years could it have taken him to gather such amount to doing such for his parents if no be him papa dey use am unjustly. Not everything that should go into the news.

This is no pride, now children of other parents will be mocked by their parents citing this child as an example. Silly jokes!

The boy has done well.
But this is parental failure.
Parents giving birth to children they cannot train .
They abandoned the children to date and expect the children to take care of them.
This is very common in the north and in Nasarawa state.
All that such parents does is to drink, flirt around and be living dirty life at the expense of their children

Subjected to ? What use of word is that, when what we are discussing so far is not forced labor? We are saying is, if a child desires to work in the field to support self and/or parents, that child should be appreciated and encouraged. But that child should also be encouraged to study and learn more skills, crafts and even STEM. After kids have mastered reading, writing and socialism, all they should do is laborous skilled jobs, crafts, manual and automated labor. That is what charges our Souls. We are here to labor and build a beautiful world from childhood to adulthood and enjoy what we have build at average and old age. If we do not work at childhood to adulthood, we will suffer at average and old ages.

Anyone or country who says it is criminal offence for a child to engage in Labor, is mischievous. We must see the outcome of their decisions on their own populace before we accept their principles.

The Child Labor ideology is pushed by western civilizations, and we can clearly see that they are a failure today and dying off tomorrow, because now they depend on hardworking countries like Nigeria, Mexico, Jamaica etc for their medics and artisans and China, Japan, Korea for their electronics; India, China for their IT infrastructure and Canada for their lumber and electricity.

Do not follow the West, they are a dying empire of Gays, drugs addicts and narcissist soldiers. Shame on them.

Western world and their narratives of child labour never seize to amaze me.Growing up we saw on TV how primary school boys of 10-11 do newspapers runs in the morning before going to school. After school and on holidays they work in neighbourhood bakeries and butcher shops.I am talking of 60s-70s. Prior they worked in coal mines

If this was abroad, the father and mother would be employed or receiving government benefits, they would have a place to stay, food and hope for a better tomorrow....You can't compare life in the GRA(Abroad) with life in the Zanga(Nigeria) grin grin

So many kids his age (or even younger) are being exploited all over the world with nothing to show for it.
At least, he got something to show for his labour.

My opinion about this is mixed.

Michael Jackson was already performing at age 5.

Most footballers in Europe, the outstanding ones are given so much, just to tie them down.

Macaulay Culkin was a millionaire at 13.

The vicissitudes and challenged of life might propel a young kid to indulge in some form of labour, just to provide.

We see beggars a lot younger than this man, we never object to their sufferings.

Sure, the young man needs an education too.

He needs to experience his youth.

If wishes were horses.

wicked parents. they transferred their responsibility to the kid and pushed a child to be taking adult responsibilities when he should be in school. For goodness sake his mates are in school.again it's wickedness and evil as a parent to bring children that you have no plans or resources to take care of ni wonder chil beggars full all our streets . them no go let you waka In peace, them go dey Follow you, they pull your clothes for road.

This is a 13 year old boy not an adult.those parents should be ashamed of themselves.they can't even wait for him to be an adult for him to start working and sending money home, they just pushed the little boy into slavery while them dey for house dey fvck to produce more children
