Maybe you should do your research because all the tariffs he wrote there are false but as usual, you follow your cult leaders if they say anything without even doing your research, also reciprocating tariffs never works, you can check all throughout the history of tariffs

Tell your useless govt to reduce tarriff so prices of goods will also come down in Nigeria ..Trump is doing you favor with this if you don't know , the 27 percent tarriff is being paid by Nigerians masses at the end of the day

lol even with the increase in tariff it will still be cheaper for America to import from china, vietnam, India etc. America can never beat that. His people will just suffer because they will pay more. He is such a foolish man.

It doesn't work that way. Imports will fall as prices rise and at some point American made goods will become competitive once more.

Watch out and see how revenues from the increased tariffs will be used by the US government to subsidize American companies and stimulate local productivity.

The question the rest of the world should be asking is. If you strip the US of all productivity where will the typical American get the money to buy the things you produce. Trade remains a balance. You should care for your customers just as much as you care for your shop. You should worry if your customer is going into increased, unsustainable debt. If he goes bust, you will go bust as well.

Or better still we charge 10 percent And USA will reduce theirs to 10 percent. It's a straightforward deal.

And it will automatically reduce inflation in Nigeria but our govt will rather 27 percent to punish Nigeria with high cost

This useless entitlement mentality na him you wan show here. Nigeria charges their good almost 35% tarrif and the US simply increased their charge on Nigerian goods to 14% and then you call Trump werey. He is still magnanimous. If it were me,I would make it same with what you are charging me.

You don't know anything. This tariff will discouraged importation and boast local production. These countries need America market more than America need them. Most of these countries will go into recession. The US have been Father Christmas for far too long. Forget all these bias analysis you hear on CNN and other anti trump western TV stations.
On the bright side, it might be good for Nigeria because most of these countries will start looking for other markets (countries) to do business with, Nigeria with its large population and love for foreign goods will be a good market for them
For someone claiming anti trump bias, you really are living in your own eco chamber because even economists on the right have stated tariffs won't bring back local production

First and foremost, isolationist policies never works, Cuba and Czechoslovakia tried and failed, the world is a global village. Furthermore, there will be inefficiencies in goods as the US can't produce everything in house so the ones they will be producing will have worse quality compared to imported goods. Also the orange clown doesn't know that it's their father Christmas that makes the US the world's superpower, it from the 47 laws of power, invest in these countries and you own and with America's wain gradually and slowly dying, this man will put a final nail in it's coffin.

If you don't want to go by that, please read the full on article of tariffs that were written by two Harvard professors that have great standing in their field with winning Nobel prizes, one a republican and the other a democrat, you know shit is bad when even a republican agrees with you especially when the case is based on logic or you may not since stats shows that conservatives are less educated than progressives

You have not asked yourself what Nigeria is charging them 27 percent tarriff , is Nigeria preparing for a major offensive too?

These tarriff clearly state reciprocal , if Nigeria wants it to go away then we reduce our tarriff to 14 percent

The Tariff rates are made up.

The bottom line few acknowledge is the simple fact.

Where will America get the money to buy the goods pouring into its shores from around the world if it produces less and less year on year while their debs reach unsustainable, critical levels. This is just a reality check.

It is like a business having a series of clients but exploits the one that comes around regularly and subscribes the most. That in itself is a dangerous strategy for the said business because the day the big client defaults, goes away or wakes up to the reality of the exploitation it's curtains.

The client may suffer the loss of service but the business will almost certainly go under. The balance of trade with the rest of the world, the balance of tariffs with the rest of the world is pushing this scenario.

Nigeria should go ahead and reciprocate by banning imports from America. There is nothing they buy from us anyways. They used to buy oil from Nigeria, but that has stopped around the days of NADECO. There is nothing we import from the US that we can not import at a cheaper rate from asia. So let the trade war start. We are already down, so why fear further falls?

He ruled Zimbabwe with his anti-imperialist agenda against the west, today he is no more but he killed Zimbabwe with this type of mentality of yours. And eventually took Zimbabwe with him to his grave.

We should place sanctions on them, and threaten them with an invasion.

Do you understand the article at all?

Let me simply it for you US Tarrif hike affects 185 countries including Niveria.

Nigeria is charging US 27% tarrif and Trump said that is not fair to his country and he said Nigeria too should be paying 14% tariff to them. This is business.

I don't like Trump a bit but I understand his point.

This one is a semi literate ooh...

Simple economics you don't know, so why do I have to pay more to buy or import your products? When I can produce them in my country and sell cheaper with no tariff thereby boosting my economy.

So I will not import your products anymore and you can't sell your products to Americans anymore thereby losing forex.

Nigeria must not lose the American market now because it will be bad for our economy, we need forex.

This is how things like this works! It's never a good thing.

Very few Nigerians are smart people! Shame caught me.

See the list and see how the rest of the world are milking the U.S. with tariffs

Let male it easy for you to underatand. If Federal Government of Nigeria raises tarrif on imported clothes and shoes. Don't you think this will create market for local producers, and in turn they will need to e.ploy more staff because now they have a bigger market to serve
