BIGJAY, How could you speak like this.It seems you have genocidal tendercies.Well you are talking out of context. The truth is that greedy nigerian politicians cannot do without the oil. $88 per barrel-do the math. they prefer to safeguard the region than take care of the people |

Politicians are thesame all over, its a human factor. Do we suggest that security forces be placed on stand by around the bridge or the waters? |

MEND will be asking for trouble if they realy mean to carry out this threat, the mere mention of it can cause much Wahala, how do they expect OPC to react to such a pronouncement? siddon dey look? By the way what part of the country ( I mean real people-the masses) has benefited from this oil we are talking about? Where in this country do we have good roads, water supply, electricity, housing, jobs for the unemployed? ND complain about neglect and they are very right that they have been wrongfully neglected but please my other brodas and sistas for Naija, una get all these things for una place? cos me I no get o! |

Bigjay has been banned for his genocidal tendencies. Once again, it's idiotic to consider killing innocent Niger Deltans. |

Seun Well i wont say he did not deserve it @topic MEND is a criminal organisation and they are not fighting for the ND, They're fighting for their own belly just like the rest. How is bombing a bridge or the NNPC filling station that was bombed in PH helping the ND's cause. The kidnapping has not even helped the cause, now every di** and harry is out there trying to kidnap everyone that has the slightest affiliation to politics or oil companies. This is disgraceful. Our Security has failed us, but again what hasn't. Yar'adua's govt must step up to this security threat. Our security agencies need a major overhauling in terms of training, infrastructure, arms, salary and entitlements. The way ahead is two folds - Security and Dialogue. |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by willy4: 11:48am On Oct 19, 2007 |
@Shinatu, M.E.N.T , is not against OPC or YORUBA'S. MENT want the emancipation of their impoverish people from the hand of they oppressors Nigerians. |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by jujukemist(m): 11:49am On Oct 19, 2007 |
Egbon seun you give me the creeps! contributors should be analytical and objective before talking. I believe our aim here is to find a way out to better this nation of ours, perhaps we should us e this opportunity to take look at the Nigerian project and our leaders. MEND has a cause but they are moving out of reason. Nigerians will never support destroying our infrastructure |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by Seun(m): 11:52am On Oct 19, 2007 |
Killing millions of innocent Niger Deltans because of a bridge? Nah, only a psychopath thinks that way. Sorry. |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by somze(f): 12:01pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
MEND has no course. The truth is much deeper than you think. I agree that these groups brought the suffering to the lime light but the whole procedure is wrong. Meanwhile do you know that our so called elders aided the situation for sometime now. During the military regime, a few niger deltans were profiting while the others suffered and died. Look at the governors since 1999. They have enriched themselves with the billions allocated to the states. What do they have to show for it? Nothing. All these groups are fighting for their own bellies. The leaders are oil bonkers or profit in other ways. If they're really fighting for the people common sense would have told them to stop by now and ensue peace and development. What has bombing a bridge in Lagos got to do with ND? That is terrorism and murder. |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by moondust(m): 12:09pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
after they blow it up, the government would have to make them MEND it back |

Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by jujukemist(m): 12:19pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
I agree that these groups brought the suffering to the lime light but the whole procedure is wrong And yet you say they do not have a cause? ND Issue is multi faceted. Even now ND leaders are filling their pockets to the detriment of their people-how different are they from MEND?.The situation looks hopeless-who will stand for the masses of ND? |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by Jerie(m): 12:21pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
Let us face the facts. MEND or whatever they are called know where the monies approved for the regions over the years have gone, and that is that these funds are in the coffers of their sponsors. Let me sound a note of warning here, if we ever hear talk of even thinking of blowing up the third mainland bridge, we will help them solve their problems and that is deal with their sponsors' interests in Nigeria and overseas, their sponsors themselves and then, teach the MEND guys the lessons that their elders didnt teach them. Being fishermen, they would know that a silent river runs deep. |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by somze(f): 12:25pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
Cause or no cause MEND is a terrorist organisation |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by jujukemist(m): 12:26pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
Jerie, I thot you will say being Oil landlords? you prefer to call them fishermen, keeping silent about the oil that is the crux of this discourse. Thats how the Nigerian govt sees the peoples of the ND-fishermen and not oil land lords-no wonder there is no respect and development.-you are a typical Nigerian-if e no concern me, make e scatter |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by jujukemist(m): 12:30pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
Terrorist or no terrorist-way forward. Wat can you and your govt do to solve the issue. We were all in this country wen oshimole was using dialogue, no body answered him, but wen Asari shoot AK he was given a presidential attention. so wetin you de yan |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by Seun(m): 12:36pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
I agree that these groups brought the suffering to the lime light but the whole procedure is wrongWe don't need these people to "bring the suffering to the limelight". That is a job for the media, not armed 'youths'! Every terrorist has a 'cause' he pays lip service to. Every criminal has a 'reason' for his crime. But it's all bullshit. |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by somze(f): 12:39pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
Solutions to the ND problem fall well out of this thread maybe we'll find a thread to talk about that Seun Well to be sincere, i dont think much was heard until these . . . erm . . . criminals started the noise making. I can understand the plight of the true niger deltans but these terrorists are just a false representative of the region. |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by Nobody: 12:42pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
willy*2: so willywilly, that justifies blowing up the 3rd mainland bride why cant they just hang that leader of theirs, even if he's making an empty threat, for the mere fact that he even concieved such in his heart, then he is worse than OsamaBin Laden. Negotiation with terrorist doesn't work. so that one is out of the question. Those MEND guys are just jobless and lazy dare-devils, nothing will ever please them. Even if Shell or the FG provides them with 1,000,000,000 job opportunities, how many of them will be qualified to work in those places, because you dont get a good job by carrying sophisticated amunitions. Those pple should jst shut their mouth, and pray that nothings happens to that bridge, because if anything as little as a crack shows on that bridge, then they have asked for another civil war. |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by jujukemist(m): 12:45pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
Yes Egbon seun, but you will also agree that the media has never succeeded in doing it.Every politician will fill his pocket period!. Meanwhile all Nigerians are watching.Because some of us have low anger threshold we go under. The fact is this the true freedom fighters brought this cause to limelight not the media, not the local or national politicians |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by Seun(m): 12:48pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
Yes Egbon seun, but you will also agree that the media has never succeeded in doing it.All it takes to get the attention of a media is a good PR specialist. A PR specialist much cheaper than a bomb! |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by jujukemist(m): 12:49pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
you don't know any thing about the causes of civil war-so don't do bragado online.Your govt is paralysed so are Nigerians.wat can you do.We like making noise while the exploration and bunkering is going on |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by Seun(m): 12:52pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
If all the money they are using to buy arms and cause unrest was used to raise awareness (e.g. making movies, documentaries, etc) build infrastructure, the people of the Niger Delta will be much happier for it. Right now they are just driving investors away from the region so that they can continue to have a 'reason' to steal and kill. People like Ken Saro Wiwa raised a lot of awareness about the Niger Delta problem without killing anybody. |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by willy4: 12:58pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
somze:MENT are not Terrorist, It's Nigerians/Government that are Terrorizing they people of this Region. If Nigerian withdraws their presence/interest there, the struggle of MEND will end. |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by jujukemist(m): 1:00pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
Yet he was killed. Where in the world has documentries and films brought the needed change and development that the ND needs.MEND and every one knew that sarowiwa was killed. I do not subscribe to blowing up bridge, but I do agree with legitimate agitation of the ND youths |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by Dekie(f): 1:02pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
They forget that when the bridge is blown, nigerdeltans alongside other nigerians and foreigners will be there. My advice to mend is simple 'person no dey throw stone for market because im mama fit dey there' 90%(my estimate) of niger deltans living in lagos or coming in to do business in Lagos use the third mainland bridge daily.Ajegunle is not in my backyard, neither is balogun market.ask Samson Siasia, daddy showkey,Festus keyamo,Ben bruce, Pat Utomi, Cecilia Ibru,Albert Okumagba even RMD.Something take them on that bridge from time to time but incase they are too self centered to care, let them know that it would be an act of genocide.Gbomo jomo abi gbomo gbomo,be warned. The world is watching. |
Re: MEND Threatens To Blow Up The 3rd Mainland Bridge by somze(f): 1:05pm On Oct 19, 2007 |
Seun Is it not the same politicians that gave them the means to buy the arms? Is there a thread for the solution to the ND issue? Maybe thats where we ought to be at this point. willy willy*2:Thats a lie from the pit of hell Bombing NNPC filling station in PH is clearly an act of terror This threat of 3rd mainland bridge is terror in the making. It involves innocent people. MEND is a greedy group fighting for their bellies. What has MEND done to develop their surroundings? Instead they spend their money on weapons and drive away investors in the area. The white guys bring business into the region from hotel to real-estate to night life. With the recent state of events we have that going down the drain. Even shops are suffering from this. What the do you know about this region? Have you been to Ph or Bayelsa lately? What example is MEND giving our your teens? - Take up arms and kidnap white folks and ask for huge amounts of money in return? They have surely learnt that. Now even easterners come all this way to join in the kidnap business. The white guys have left so now they've turned on politicians and shell workers. How nice! MEND should be giving an award. Bloody crap!!! |
