we played 3-1-4-2. the four behind the front 2 included valencia shaw mata and rooney. mata wasn't anymore advanced than rooney in the game - and he played the game of his life even when the formation was tweaked and rooney moved into top striker position. mata wasn't any AM, stop lying.



we are talking about yesterday's game - don't dig up the past. rooney lost us the game was the statement you are trying to rebut. don't bring up games that was played in 1985 that had a different circumstance or personnel in the team.

how would RVP score when rooney kept making idiotïc passes all game. everytime we broke, RVP made intelligent runs and rooney the cow offered an idiötic through ball. RVP at least had an attempt that was blocked - rooney did not make a single attempt in 90 mins at old trafford - what a shame!

Someone like you would say Fernadinho and Yaya Toure play same on same line when you see City play 4-2-3-1 or assume Herdenson, Coutinho and Sterling played on same line when Liverpool deployed them behind Suarez and Sturridge last season with Gerald at the base. Or Matic and Fabregas on same line in midfield on Chelsea's 4-2-3-1.

they play on the same line. whenever rooney plays rubbish, you quickly offer an excuse that he is too deep to influence the games. what happened when rooney was moved upfront? did he even scare the goalie?

the pass was wack & it was from rooney. at least VP took a good shot that was blocked. if rooney had treaded the pass diagonally instead of placing it behind VP, he would have gotten a better chance of scoring.

RVP needed an extra touch cos the original pass was slightly behind him. rooney can't make short passes, he's too fat to measure and place short passes. ronaldo will be 30 in 3 weeks time and he's still beasting his peers. rooney at 30 is worse than giggs at 37.

Rooney did not play rubbish. He did his job- cover Carrick, offer defensive cover, pass the ball forward to Mata, Di Mari and RVP. Rooney left the midfield and Herrera couldn't protect or cover Carrick's flaws. Something Fellaini and Rooney had done well so far.

3-1-4-2 doesn't mean the central midfielders are on sme line just as 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 or 3-4-1-2, etc. What do you watch?

he was poor in every aspect of the game & when we needed him to lead and take the game by the scruff of the neck, he disappeared from the game & it passed him by. it was mata popping everywhere to take our chances - rooney was neither doing the build up or shooting on target.
