Aftodoc2 Harry Amass was the only outfield player who played the whole 90 mins vs Arsenal. What do you think of his cameo? Cc: Ellexy, eph12 |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 11:56am On Jul 28 |
Leyqute: He played only the 1st half. Sam Murray played the 2nd half. Amass did well. He was as technically secure on the ball and press resistant as usual. He didn't shy away from physical challenges and did not appear overmatched in terms of speed. He however needs to work on his defensive awareness. I think Murray needs to go on loan as he is the older one and desperately needs senior football. Amass can stay and play FA Youth Cup for the Under 18s, UEFA Youth League, and Under-21 Premier League 2. He can also have the odd cameo on the bench with the senior team but should not be the regular 2nd choice LB yet. |

Leyqute:I think he did okay but he didn't play the whole 90 minutes. He was quick and eager to impress. But our play became limited when Rasmus got injured and we didn't do anything significant attacking wise. I'm interested in seeing how he performs when we control the game and on the front foot |

The match with Arsenal seemed like a continuum of last season. Man United played well. Scored a goal then as usual retreated into a defensive shell in typical Ten Hag cowardly football. Subsequently Arsenal stepped up a gear got an equaliser. Piled on the pressure and got the deserved winner. It beats me hollow how Ten Hags team retreats into a defensive unit after they score instead of going for the jugular and completely destroying opponents. The season hasn't started but watching this game brought a sinking feeling that we will not compete again this season. Ineos definitely made a mistake in renewal of Ten Hags contract. The only good thing is that Ruud Van Nistelroy is probably being readied to step into Ten Hags shoes when he finally gets the inevitable boot! 6 Likes |

afrodoc2: True. @bolded. Livescore said otherwise. I agree that Amass was quite good. I also think the nutritionists should work on his physicality. There were a few moments he was bullied off in challenges, and we can expect more of that in the PL. My only worry is that we are a bit thin in that department. With the way things are going, we’ll start the new season with Amass at LB- cos we don’t have any other option. Malacia is still in hospital and we can’t thrust Shaw into action just like that. If ETH starts Dalot at LB instead, that’ll be good for him, but who mans the RB? Amass can definitely do a job in the squad next season, I’m just cautious about thrusting him into the action too early. He still needs a bit of physical development to really get there. I’m just watching the second half of the replay. Fingers crossed on Murray.

eph12: True. Amass is another massive talent from the academy. But he’s not a shiny player or an attacker so his development has gone a bit under radar with fewer people missing him. I hope his transition is well managed. |

Dantedasz: You’re spot on 100%. But I’m also 100% sure you didn’t watch the match or the replay. |

OMG Antony is shockingly bad. Worried this bald headed coach might prefer him to Amad next season. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 12:54pm On Jul 28 |
Leyqute: I think Amass will develop physically with time but yeah the trainers can also help with that. Murray has done well this preseason. He is nowhere near the talent that Amass is, but he looks much better than 2 years ago which is the last time I saw him in detail. |

Ethan Wheatley needs a good loan to toughen him up. |

Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by YourBestWriter: 2:06pm On Jul 28 |
nitrogen: No I did not see the game. But every friendly is to build fitness ahead of the new season. Didn't Chelsea lose 4 - 1 to Celtic as well? It was a good game by using a quality side like arsenal to prepare ahead, but it's all about the fitness at this stage. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 2:06pm On Jul 28 |
Leyqute: I doubt it. Unless the change the timing of the games. It seems they don't want to televise Under-21 games that clash with EPL games. Or at least that was their reason last season. |

afrodoc2: What about the promising lads that move on to the U21s from the U18s? We won’t be able to see if they’re progressing or not. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 3:17pm On Jul 28 |
Leyqute: Well we can see some of them in the FA Youth Cup still, and also in the UEFA Youth League. |

TrebleChamp: Arsenal use us train. I felt like crying. The guys are good but they'll learn nothing much with Eth. Going for ugarte instead of zubimendi clearly shows he ain't interested in keeping possession |

So, Lenny Yoro was already injured before the Arsenal game and did not train the day before. This thing might be spiritual. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by TrebleChamp(m): 7:45am On Jul 29 |
afrodoc2:I have said severally that United problem is spiritual during OGS tenure and accused David Moyes of being responsible 😁, DeGea later came out to say same thing (without accusing Moyes). Why did the coaching team allow him to play knowing he wasn't fit, i just hope Bald Fraud takes advice from his new assistants... |

What's ten hags obsession with unsellable Ajax bums.. It's not worrisome to him that we are the only team trying to sign this bums. Ineos aren't doing anything aje. Nobody can tell me they looked at the market and identified.. A Dutch striker. A Dutch defender. And an ex Ajax right back.. No effen way |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by CrystalTiger(m): 8:31am On Jul 29 |
Seems the two Bayern players we're being linked to don't have good injury records.. INEOS had better be careful not to fill the team with more player doctors than we already have.. |
