LISBON, June 7 (Reuters) - Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo is confident he will reach a deal to renew his contract with the La Liga club.
The Portugal captain arrived at Real Madrid from Manchester United in 2009 for a world record fee of more than 90 million euros ($118.98 million) and continued his goalscoring spree in Spain.
However, Real's failure to win major silverware last season and reports of division in the dressing room have prompted speculation Ronaldo, whose contract runs until June 2015, may be seeking a move away from the Spanish capital.
"I am well, calm and not worried about it. I know we will reach a deal," Ronaldo told reporters on Friday.
Club president Florentino Perez has described Ronaldo as "priceless" and said he would stay and help Real win the 10th European crown they have been chasing since their last continental success in 2002.
The 28-year-old helped Portugal beat Russia 1-0 on Friday to revive their 2014 World Cup qualification campaign. Ronaldo declined to comment when questioned about coach Jose Mourinho's remarks that he did not cope well with criticism. Cristiano Ronaldo is demanding a staggering £32million-a-year deal to stop him from returning to Manchester United.

First up he wants an annual wage of £17m from Madrid, which works out at about £345,000 per week.

But he is also demanding 100 per cent of his image rights contract from the club, which could be worth as much as £15m per year. Even a club as rich as Real Madrid have been shocked by the figures being bandied around by Ronaldo’s representatives.

Ronaldo is aware Barcelona rival Lionel Messi currently gets £14m a year and already has a 100 per cent image rights agreement with his club.

Nani's future at Manchester United remains uncertain

United winger Nani has admitted that leaving Manchester United this summer is a possibility.

Speaking to Portugese media outlet RTP, Nani said: "I have not yet decided where I am going or if I am going.

"In the next few days I will decide my future."

While Sir Alex Ferguson was a vocal supporter of Nani's talent it is not yet clear whether the 26-year-old has a place in David Moyes plans for next season.

^^ I doubt it seriously. Rafael is top quality, but also still getting better as he is still very young. I will be surprised if he isn't starting for Brazil come next years WC.

Varela has a lot of work to do. Unless Rafael does like Gabriel Heinze, he will be RB for a good while.
