This is what i was telling Expert. The Glazers only spend just enough to maintain champions league football and make the club viable . And they have never spent their own money, only money made by the club AFTER taking their consultancy fees and paying off the debt they brought on the club.

these guys are hiding behind the managers so it is important the fans are clear on their present work condition because the coaches will be the first heads to roll anyway. they should protect their own reputation.

I have been following the argument closely and TBH, it makes for a good read...

I used to be anti-Glazers whilst Fergie was here because they just didn't splash the cash on quality players as one would've expected. Our midfield was left unattended to for years and whilst we lost key players, they didn't do enough to replace them but over the past couple of years, they've invested in the squad hugely maybe because we started missing out on Europe altogether (sounds plausible)...

The reason why we are still struggling even when the Glazers have brought out the cheque book is because we don't have a football philosophy to guide our player purchases and that's why we desperately need a football man to run to football aspect of the club. Van Gaal came and signed his men, Mourinho came and signed the players he likes which are quite different from the kind of players we signed under Van Gaal and now, Ole is buying his own players. If sacked, we might opt for another manager with an entirely different footballing philosophy...

The club needs to have a direction wherein, player acquisition and manager change will depend on whether or he can fit in our system that way, a new manager will come in and doesn't need a complete clear out like what Pep wanted at Chelsea...

usually club owners show ambition and give more backing when they see some dividend of their previous outlay. of course some observers will say they don't see any improvement, no surprises. people still get knocked down crossing the road.
if the board had any silverware ambition, our transfer dealings should have been concluded already.

They care about trophies, that's why they keep spending. Meanwhile, spending 200m every season is not sustainable. Revenue is 650m pounds, player wages alone is close to 350m pounds....spending 200m pounds every season is not sustainable at all!
