When I opined that Dortmund will struggle to sell Sancho going forward, I wasn't on drugs...Sancho himself is greedy, push for a deal baba say no, he prolly thought United will pay up but Ed wasn't having none of it so I don’t buy the whole narrative that Sancho is unhappy...All he had to do was submit a transfer request but he was forming good boy...

When you talk about his performance for England, they'll tell you that Southgate is clueless but some of us have seen enough in football to know that a player shouldn't be rated after a very good season but at least after 2-3 seasons playing good football...We have seen Andrew Johnson, Darren Bent and a host of other one season wonders. Sancho have friends in Manchester United's team, the problem of integration wasn't going to hold sway for him, all he needed to do was push for a deal but he didn't...I bet he'll see our game against PSG and wished he made the move...At 200k per week wages, if nobody goes in hard for him next summer, Watzke will beg to terminate his contract because quite sincerely, Dortmund cannot afford such wages not when matches are played behind closed doors...

Clubs have started learning to play smart with greedy CEOs like watzke and levy.
City doesn't splash anything more than 60m and even st that, the player must be 25 or below.
Barca are the worst hit and are counting their loss, the preeminence of Messi over the years covered the horrible transfers and contract negotiations since.
After the recent hazard debacle, I doubt Madrid will be foolish to make such mistake again, I heard some deluded Liverpool fans saying they will sell sallah and mane to Madrid &/or Barca, to fund the purchase of younger world class players. Lol they are not that stupid.

Maguire is the last player man United will be magad, ED has sent a clear message loud and clear that he is not ready to twerk for anyone to sell players to him.

Look at the young players that Madrid have bought over the years, that's their new model now. Vanicius, Valverde, Kubo, odegaard, Rodrygo.

Very soon players snd agents will start adding compulsory reasonable release clauses or sign short term contracts at clubs like dortmund.

A squad of several above average players is better than several mediocre players with 1-2 stars (as long as the stars are not prime Messi or Ronaldo).
It is the smart way to build your team and City, Liverpool, Bayern have done well with that model.

How was he greedy? The transfer money been requested was not by him but by the club.
His wages and his agent’s fees has been agreed for a long time according to all Tier 1 journalists.

Him not submitting a transfer request can be attributed to him trying to be a good boy and not wanting to rock the boat NOT to greed.

The guy is definitely unhappy he did not move. His plan all the while was make a name for himself in Germany and move back to the EPL.

And he didn’t have just a single good season like you implied but 2 seasons playing very good football.

Sancho was actually not greedy rather he was not strategic, almost all big transfers have an element of the player himself pushing for it. The issue was that he just the do shakara for us simple, the hype by most of our fans got to his head. The greedy party here was dortmund CEO, he was even giving ED deadline, a mafia crook like Woodward he is giving deadline. The issue now is that watching dortmund closely they are already preparing Gio Reyna to replace Sancho, very soon Makouko will be promoted to senior team to take over when they sell Reyna, they are a selling club, so paying Sancho 200k/week is a time bomb for them, the reason they even upgraded his wages was to get big transfer fee but they overplayed their hand. Buying teams will capitalise on that

They thought Ed was joking, I even suspect they were very very ready to do business towards the transfer deadline, Baba just called their bluff and went for Diallo and pellistri, and added Cavani as jara. Dortmund are currently in financial crises already, and with Covid peaking again as we approach winter in Europe, I don't see fans returning and gate fee forms a huge chunk of their revenue, so they will be looking to clear their books

Exactly. Sancho thought there was no way the 2 clubs won’t agree on a deal. He didn’t want to perpetuate the narrative that he is a player who likes to force his way out of clubs (Dortmund is his 3rd club at 20).

I support Ed fully on this one, as long as he does not fall mugu next season and buy Grealish or Declan Rice for 80m.

What I am hoping is that the Sancho money is spent in January or next summer to further improve the squad in a strategic manner.

Robertson is a better option, at least he provides attacking returns. Make Salah, Kane , Ings and Sonaldo score hat trick this GW that's all I ask grin

Voting for the wrong person is not a crime and is not a sin. We should channel the aggression in the right direction. The electorate is not responsible for the transgressions of the elected.

They are completely responsible.

A person should be ready to take responsibility for bad decisions made, which includes putting the wrong person in power. Nobody is perfect, but when poor judgement is made, a person should accept that he/she made a huge mistake.

It's one thing to make a decision that affects only the decision-maker, then another thing to make a decision that affects the whole populace.

If the electorate is not held responsible for the transgressions of the elected, then a free-will is given to make more poor decisions in the future. It becomes a never-ending cycle, because the electorate subconsciously knows that they will not be held responsible for their choices made, so critical thinking and analysis of the candidate can easily take a back seat.

My issue with the initial post is cursing people for voting for Buhari. Nobody knows tomorrow so you can never know what someone running for office will do when he gets into office.

Many voted for him because of his campaign manifesto and promises. They believed him but he swindled them so why are they being attacked?

The fact that majority believed promises like "N1 = $1" makes the sense of judgement more questionable.

Questions should be asked, some of these things won't happen by magic.

Already seeing some names being thrown around to contest in 2023. The fact that some of these names are even being considered for Presidency makes one wonder if there is really hope for the nation.
