ositadiima1:They are expert in cutting corners, very dishonest, even the ones that bring their wives still cheat. Have you met a Indian who speaks Yoruba? Some of them speak the Yoruba while chinese speak Igbo too. They have many festivals which are celebrated even in Nigeria. An average Indian does joke with money, but can spend the last Kobo for festivals or children birthday. I have worked with them very well and know them too well. 6 Likes |

Manwarrior55: Someone said foreign investors who are trapped are using the shares to repatrate funds. It is quoted on both Lagos and London Stock Exchange. With the registrar of the company in Lagos and London, it could be possible for foreigb investors with 1 million units in Lagos to have a kind of share swap, whereby they can sell in London to earn forex 3 Likes |

emmanuelewumi:Hmm. I’m wondering why any sane foreign investor would buy the share at N530 to N580 in Nigeria and sell at 80 pence in London. At 1 million shares, that’s a loss of at least 300,000 pounds (not including transaction costs) just to repatriate funds. |

Manwarrior55:The 81bn gain is the gain in the market cap of the entire exchange. Not Airtel’s investors. If it was the next Netflix, investors on the LSE would be rushing it na . |

Lazyyouth4u: It was N285 for many months and most part of this year and last year. Recent interest in the stock drove the stock price to roof top The arrangement made sense at N400 to N430 not at the current price |

Leezah: You're focusing on the ones in Nigeria that you guys have succeeded in absolutely corrupting. Here in the Gulf, they're in millions, very hardworking, trustworthy, law-abiding, not given to the get-rich- quick syndrome that most Nigerians are bedevilled with, and are hardly linked to any crime. Compare that to the Nigerians that are far fewer in number, yet noisy, proud, lawless ,unreliable, and are always involved in one crime or the other. If a Nigerian borrow money from you here, you'll never see it again, unlike these other guys. I don't think there are other humans like our Nigerians on this earth. 3 Likes |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nobody: 8:31am On Dec 01, 2020 |
emmanuelewumi:No. Not Airtel shares. It is the net gain on the market cap of all shares (including Airtel and all other stocks) on the entire NSE. |

ChybuzzDD: I think they adopt the "When in Rome behave like Roman's approach " Nigeria is a corrupt ridden useless entity So to succeed in such environment You have to "play the game " Nigeria is the country I know that the system PENALISE you for wanting to do things the right way. If you doubt, try getting your driver's licence or international passport via the "normal expected way" Come and tell us the story later Or try to seek building approval from the Lagos state ministry as it should be done Let's see how it ends So they are here and playing by the rules we set. They have their businesses everywhere You cant tell me they do brazen malpractice in Britain for example 4 Likes |

Grupo:I am surprised anyone can believe that a fixed income fund can guarantee 7.5% returns in a market where yields on safe fixed income securities are at all time lows. What securities will they be investing the money in to guarantee people 7.5%? It makes no sense in the current low interest environment. 1 Like |

DexterousOne:India is a very corrupt country. You can’t get anything done in India without cutting corners, bribing or using contacts in high places. Don’t say they learn these things in Naija. They are ogbologbos in their country and just blend naturally in Naija as everything in Naija is as it is in India. This is why they are able to do very well in running businesses in Naija. 3 Likes |

DexterousOne: No mind these guys. While in quarantine, I was giving some Indians, and even Pakistanis my ATM card and PIN to help me withdraw money and they did it excellently. I never for one day nurture any fear of any fraud/sharp practice. And so many of such exhibitions of trustworthiness abound. If you try that with most Nigerians, you will regret it, unless you quickly change your PIN thereafter. Most times we only focus on the politicians, but the masses are just as corrupt, or even moreso than some of those politicians. 2 Likes |

Lazyyouth4u: That is not the point When you are in an environment You play the rules by the dictates of the environment And Nigeria being a fertile ground for criminality It's no surprise they (well some of them) are playing along Every bad thing they do here Nigerians here do it worse Abuse of staff? Nigerians gat A+ in that Owing of salaries? Jimoh Ibrahim/Dokpesi Wont say more |
