At the Muritala Muhammed Intl airport, you are likely to be approached by scruffy and desperate looking touts who may ask you if you have you're immunisation card ( or yellow card as it is popularly called).

These guys are not registered with the ministry of health and they sell the card to intending travellers who may need to show proof of immunisation against Yellow fever, cholera and CSM-cerebrospinal meningitis. They do so without giving any shot. Just pay and get ur card.

Unfortunately, the authorites in south africas airport has discovered this ilicit act and are aware that many nigerians who travel into their country have not actually received the shots, despite being in possesion of a yellow card.

As a result they are threatening to deport nigerians right from the airport, and those who get transit visa aren't even allowed into the country!!

Ghana on the other hand is still lenient , as they allow you in but instuct you to get the shots ASAP as yellow fever and CSM have become endemic!

What are the authorities in nigeria doing to curb this illicit practice, that is tarnishing our already damaged reputation??
