Does The Bible Really Forbid Women Preachers? by djeezy(m): 10:31am On Mar 18, 2012
Please i need clarification on this because it has always been a bone of contention that elicits religious controvery. I will give the bible verses herunder, but is the last really in favour of the female preachers?

"Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church." (1 Corinthians 14:34-35).

"Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." (1 Timothy 2:11-12).

What about this?
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. (Gal. 3:28) please no tantrums and ignominy.

Women can preach and should preach, but they are not expected to teach in church as seen in those passages. They can teach women and children the Word of God. They can also preach to/'evangelise' the BILLIONS of unsaved people (male or female) all over the world.
On no male and female in Christ, yes. There's no segregation in salvation. We all can be saved, we all can serve the Lord, obey the Lord, please Him all of our lives, there's no preference in that. But some aspects of life, there's male and female. Like in marriage, we don't say no male and female. In hard/menial labour, there should be a gracious difference. Hope you're clear?

Bible is not an ordinary book which can be interpreted any how. It is a spiritual treasure that needs the Holy Spirit, the only interpreter to interprete it.
Without Him u will see urself holding unto one and fighting against other scriptures in d bible.
To the topic, if u are not sent to preach as a man or woman, u cant , but if u are sent then u can Rom. 10:15:
as a woman you are to keep silent in the church as commanded but if God is calling u to preach even to men u dont have choice except u want to end in hell. Rom. 16:1-2 is talking about a servant of a church which is a woman. 2John was written to another woman, a minister. Also Phil.4:3.
I repeat if a woman is sent to preach, she has no choice.

whose not sent to preach as a christian. Every believer should preach the gospel.
John 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

Labourinng in the gospel, being a servant of god, and being written to do not equate TEACHING MEN IN CHURCH. Please be objective.

Same Verse 33 of 1st corintian chapter 14 says GOD IS NOT THE AUTHOR OF CONFUSION, BUT OF PEACE..., where is the confusion coming from, a member of a church that is headed by a woman pastor will always defend the POSTER chapters by quoting other verses on the bible, only to justify the appointment by HOLY SPIRIT of his / her woman pastor. Yet another member of a church headed by a male pastor will always refer to this as reason why female does not preach/teach in his / her church.

GOD WILL MAKE A WAY WHERE THERE SEEMS TO BE NO WAY.
WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE,
THERE ARE TWO SIDES OF A COIN

IF YOUR PRESENT RELIGION IS THE FIRST SIDE OF YOUR COIN, AND OTHERS IS THE SECOND SIDE, WITHOUT SENTIMENT HAVE A LOOK AT THE SECOND SIDE, THEN DECIDE INTELEGENTLY.

I have found myself therein.

Don't be deceived by all these words.

You found a contradiction in the Bible ... There are millions of contradictions in the Bible ... and much more serious than that.

Why are those scriptures had for people to understand
Very simple...women can't qualify as bishops and deacons...women cannot exercise authority in d church or teach in d church ...simple as ABC....
Its like insinuating that there were female priests in d temple back then in isreal...temple/church services, anything having to do with internal church activities, taking d lead, teaching are for men and men alone.....
That is Gods arrangement...why1timothy 2:8-12 tells us why.....
Women could engage in d evangelizing work generally just as there were female prophetesses in isreal but cant and should never teach a congregation just as a female could never have been a priest...
But taking d lead(pastor or bishop) or teaching in d church is a responsibility for men alone.....
No woman,ï repeat no woman amongst all d faithfull women(tabitha, lydia, prisca, mary mother of Jesus etc)that existed in d 1st century ever became a bishop mrs or pastor mrs or deaconess in the 1st century..
They don't qualify to be overseers.
They all followed Gods arrangement of headship and orderliness.....

i believe we should look @ d context at which those verses were written! Deborah was a judge in male dominated isreal n we know that a judge was d priest, prophet n king/queen. we should try to read d whole chapters or books b/4 we can really understand d word. 1pet 3:7b ...she's ur equal partner in God's gift of new life... read 1 cor14:26-40 n try to understand dat Paul was answering certain questions d corinthians asked him! lets even read d whole book of 1st cor to get d message. stay blessed!
