I was @ the capital of Lagos, Ikeja when the scene took place, there was partial darkness @ Ikeja people were scared but it all left immediately. I loved the scene thank God I witnessed this one. `Cos I was informed the next one will come up in the year 2034 wonder where I will be then God help me. |

hELLO SEUN, Thank you so much for your effort in making sure we get a good picture of what it is. Here in Lagos it was partial and i ran out of my office to gaze at it only for a few seconds.when i got back to my computer, my eyes here hazy and i was having little pain. But am fine now. Yewande that was a funny one you said and i burst in laughter but i kind of like your expression.I must say i really congratulate all of you for taking the time to do this for us. |

It was past 10am this morning when everywhere started getting dark. At first, I thought it was signs of rain, then I remembered it had been predicted there would be a solar eclipse today. Some minutes later, I went outside and looked at it directly with my eyes, just felt the normal thing - everywhere was dark to me. Then I later looked at it through a sliding glass and it appeared as if the moon was inscribed in the sun. The moon was an half moon while the sun was at it's back (from the way I saw it). In short, today is a memorable one. Now, I will have stories to tell to my grand children. |
Re: March 29 Total Solar Eclipse In Nigeria by Yewande3(f): 1:06am On Mar 30, 2006 |
Sorry Glessor :DIt was YOUR toenail pic, not Maxflames (no offence Max ) Jebrills Do you mean the "toenail" expression? My mum used to say to us "look at the moon up there in the sky, it looks just like a toenail!" So, no credit to me for that one but I guess its sweet. I didnt think when Iwas writing it I got carried away with the moment!! |

Re: March 29 Total Solar Eclipse In Nigeria by O4real(m): 9:52am On Mar 30, 2006 |
@kasaliyaro Can U b fair to us by telling us the place where you took these pix! U had both partial and total eclipse 4 crying out loud. |
Re: March 29 Total Solar Eclipse In Nigeria by Yewande3(f): 10:08am On Mar 30, 2006 |
@ O4real kasaliyaro said the pics were sent to him, not that HE took them himself! |
Re: March 29 Total Solar Eclipse In Nigeria by O4real(m): 10:15am On Mar 30, 2006 |
@yawande Oh tanx a lot 4 ur lil observation! Again @kasaliyaro can you tell us where ur friend took these pix. It's important that we know. |
Re: March 29 Total Solar Eclipse In Nigeria by kasaliyaro(m): 10:19am On Mar 30, 2006 |
O4real: Seem like someone here has problems understanding simple english. Or he was too eager to see the pics he missed my text. kasaliyaro: Thank you o Yewande, help me ask O4Real. . . abi Where in the above did I mention I took the pictures myself? We didn't see nothing here in the US. The pics all came from different sources. All I did was pick the best ones from the ones I received and shared with nairalanders. |
Re: March 29 Total Solar Eclipse In Nigeria by O4real(m): 10:27am On Mar 30, 2006 |
@kasali oh thats beta, U were going seal fishing abi? So u missed attaching the place. Anyways, na ur way. Nigerians in diaspora. I feel U. |
Re: March 29 Total Solar Eclipse In Nigeria by kasaliyaro(m): 10:37am On Mar 30, 2006 |
I didn't miss the place. . . If the pics came from Ghana or from Nigeria, Russia, Turkey, UK or wherever, of what importance is that to you or to Nairalanders |
Re: March 29 Total Solar Eclipse In Nigeria by diyobdw(f): 10:52am On Mar 30, 2006 |
The source just gives it more feels. like a description to the picture and you kind of know where. But that is not to say there arent appreciate don't waste you time on negative comments. Thankx |
Re: March 29 Total Solar Eclipse In Nigeria by O4real(m): 11:16am On Mar 30, 2006 |
hey Kas, dont get me wrong. I neva wanted to hit on u like this. This isnt my interest. My interest is the place just like the other ppl gave their location. U c, there are few places that were supposed to have direct hits of the Eclipse's unbra (ie total eclipse) and I think in Nigeria there were just about 6 states that were supposed to have these hits. While other parts were detailed to experience partial eclipse (ie the preumbra). So dont get worked up about the place. If u dont know just say so. It About Da feel, brother! |
Re: March 29 Total Solar Eclipse In Nigeria by Maxflame(m): 11:22am On Mar 30, 2006 |
So how many of you actually googled old eclipse images and posted em? |
Re: March 29 Total Solar Eclipse In Nigeria by O4real(m): 11:48am On Mar 30, 2006 |
@Maxflame Ask them, Max, ask them. The moderator and his panel of Judges should censure some of the pix posted. They are misleading and might result into our loosing this chance to enjoy "Nature At its Best" due to "constars" who wants credit 4 nothing. U know, a friend spotted a fake and that is why my instincts got aroused. |
Re: March 29 Total Solar Eclipse In Nigeria by Seun(m): 11:51am On Mar 30, 2006 |
If there's a fake among the bunch, please point it out. Someone admitted to getting his pictures from BBC, so at least he's honest. As for kasali, I may remove his post if he doesn't tell us where the pictures were taken. |
Re: March 29 Total Solar Eclipse In Nigeria by O4real(m): 11:53am On Mar 30, 2006 |
funny, u know, it might not be his but he should be more precise so we will know we r not being conned. |
Re: March 29 Total Solar Eclipse In Nigeria by Efenuabor(f): 12:00pm On Mar 30, 2006 |
kasali pix does not look real to me, we should insist on him to tell disclose the source to add credit to d pix. |
