Paranalogy: Wat is d creteria or conditions for onces name to b shortlisted b4 d interview? Wil dey b any written txt for all does dat apply b4 interview?[color=#006600][/color]unlike the other arms of the military,the army does not conduct exams before shortlisting it is only after.the criteria according to common sense and what a leiutenant told me says it is by 'man no man' and then your course of study could be an advantage if you applied for dssc.if you studied medicine for example,it is only poor fitness that can rule you out.........i hope i tried to answer your ? 1 Like |

For all of you who always emphasize on man no man, my cousin is in military intelligence and we didn't know anybody, always trust in God if it is ur calling u get there. He told me to concentrate on endurance training. |

I av printed d photocard,parent attestation n LG attestation letter..after given it for signing wat next wil i do?n is it after i must av been shorlisted dts wen i wil presend it to d board during interview? |

Thanks for sharing as per Ecobank branches where the pin codes are available. At some other branches they keep saying network is down... This idea of exam after shortlisting is troubling...thank God I read medicine sha but for all I know, 1,000 other doctors may apply...God, as I no sabi anybody how can Son of man progress for this country? |

For those who plan on registering check the following and make sure there are no issues to avoid wasting your N2500. Urinalysis, HIVN hepatitis B, Chest X-ray, EKG, PCV, random blood sugar, height (meets recommended minimum), weight, BMI should be less than 25, foot (no flat foot), BP, pulse rate... |

kallowdean: Pls someone should kindly comment the four most important documents are your birth certificate. certificate of state of origin, nysc certificate and ur bsc/HND certificate. but i will advise that you upload your waec certicate too. |

General tos: General tos: guy, the army said a minimum of second class lower. i doubt if your uncle who is a general would be able to influence things. just put your trust in GOD. HE CAN HELP YOU. |

All the ecobank branches I have been to have been experiencing network problems as per the entire PIN CODE process....will keep trying though...Am I the only one who has experienced dis? |

I had applied b4 i;e 2011 but still wia am i, still here. My broda man no man really works in army, airforce and navy but dat doesnt mean God is not dey to help, i always tell my fellow applicant dat on God says ur going in notin can stop u from it. Keeping faith and blv God. I will still apply again for dis yr but am still writing my msc exams. Some of us here in NL has link to help but do help ur fellows...... God bls all of us IJN Amen. |

@chimkar, the BMI is important. If you're over 25 then it either because you are overweight or you are extremely well built cos the latter could erroneously raise BMI as well...but I doubt they would be interested in training overweight officers. My BMI is 26 but i'm actively working on dropping it 2-3 points just in case. Shortlisted candidates (20/state and 15 from fct) will be invited for written exam (math, english, current affairs), medicals (all the tests I had written earlier- make sure u are free from diabetes, hypertension, hiv and hepatitis B), physicals ( varying workouts but most importantly is that u must run a distance of 3.2km in under 18minutes). Only those who pass medicals get to race...cos if you are screened out its instant like big brother.. Finally those successful will face the selection board. |

@chimkar ....going with the british army fitness guide. Basically the program is designed to allow potential recruits attain the level of fitness expected of a trained soldier. The program runs for 16weeks and involves a lot of jogging, push ups, sit ups, running and others - building both muscular and aerobic endurance. The good part is if you are lucky enough to get shortlisted the program will prepare your body for the onslaught it will receive during dssc training. If not, its a good way to keep fit.
